(Ominis' Perspective)

I used every ounce of strength I had to hold Helena back when the guards arrived—but her scream shattered the air. She was so strong, it felt like she'd used magic to break free of my grip.

I heard her kiss Sebastian, and then he whispered those words that burned into me: "Helena, if two people love each other, there can be no happy ending to it. So you have to forget about me."
A Hemingway quote. Of all things, that. Rage surged in me. I wanted to punch him right then and there. But it was too late. The guards took him, and I was left to care for the ones he left in pieces.

Helena was crying. Anne was crying. And my heart was splitting apart just hearing them. It felt like he had died.

I pulled them both into a tight hug as we knelt in the dirt, the grief settling around us like fog.
"He's coming back," I whispered, more for them than myself. "Don't cry. Sebastian will come back. We did the right thing. He killed someone. Please... please stop crying."

Helena collapsed into me, sobbing harder. I stroked her hair and murmured, "Lena, please... try to breathe. I know it hurts. Just stay with me."
Her tears soaked through my shirt as she clung to me.

Anne reached for my arm, gasping through her own sobs. "Ominis... I'm scared for him. What if he's hurt? Alone? What if—"

"He's strong, Anne," I said gently, smoothing her hair. "He can fight. They won't break him easily."

"You're right," she said softly, though her voice trembled.

I needed to take care of them both, so I steadied myself, stood, and helped them up.
"Let's go home."

I apparated us to Feldcroft. As soon as we arrived, Helena dropped to the ground, her body trembling with quiet sobs.

"Helena," Anne said as she opened the door, "we have to believe in him. He will come back. You can get through this."

"He was so angry with me," Helena whispered. "I wanted to help him... but he turned me away again. He left me... again. He broke my heart, again. I can't do this..."

Hearing her say those words broke me.

Anne placed her hand on my shoulder. "She needs to go back to the castle. She needs to get away from here."

I looked at Anne, gave her a tight hug, and kissed her forehead. "Will you be alright?"

"I'll be fine. I'm heading to St. Mungo's today. We'll keep in touch."

I knelt beside Helena, slipped my arms under her, and lifted her gently.
"We're going home, Lena. Just hold on."
She rested her head on my shoulder as I apparated us to the Undercroft.

Once there, I carried her through the halls to the Slytherin common room and into her dorm. Imelda was inside and sprang up when she saw us.

"What happened?!"

"Sebastian is gone. The guards took him. And Helena... she's breaking."
I laid her on the bed and knelt beside her.

"They took him during the funeral? Are they mad?!" Imelda shouted, slamming the door shut.

I stroked Helena's hair and held her hand. "You'll be okay, Lena. You're stronger than this."

Imelda crawled onto the bed beside her.
"Stop crying over him," she said gently but firmly. "He doesn't deserve your tears. He broke you over and over. But you... you will come back stronger."

Helena cried quietly as I pulled the blanket over her and left the room. I went straight to Professor Weasley and Garreth and told them everything.
