I have been working in malhotra industries for about 3 months and I am not lying, it is the best. I am still scared of manik but the work has gotten so much better.
I have been going to meetings with manik and not just going but he lets me put in feedback, inputs, he discusses business with me. It makes me feel important and not jsut someone who is making him coffee.
And I mean if that what others do, that's great too but my goal was to learn ways to become an architect and not just his personal assistant but this assistant job is a great stepping stone
"Nandini" his voice makes me jump up
Yes, it has been 3 months but his voice still makes me jump because he still scares me.
"Yes" I mumble walking into his cabin
"What the hell is this?" He asks throwing a file on the table
I grab the file reading through it
"No clue, I haven't read this. Where did you even get this?" I ask seeing no trace of my notes on the file
Usually when I am looking at files ahead of time I tend to make small notes on the side with a pencil just in case he needs them
"You haven't seen this file?" He asks
"No, I don't even remember those clients" I say flipping though the pages
"Am I not paying you enough?"
I look up to find him angry, which by the way, he is always angry so it's not even a new thing
"It's not that manik, I haven't seen this file. where did you get this from?" I ask
"It was on my desk this morning"
'Thats impossible" I utter only to myself
Manik is always so picky with people, he never lets anyone enter in this cabin especially not without permission. Only cabir or I come in unless the receptionist gets permission from manik
"It is not god damn impossible nandini, the file was here beside the coffee so who came into my cabin?"
"No idea, mhm okay give me a minute" I say
"I don't have a minute, this is bullshit. There are confidential stuff in my office and if people are coming in and going out, how do I even trust anything"
"Thats fair but I promise you no one came when I was around" I say
"Figure it out" he orders
I nod taking the file with me as I walk into my little cabin, a month into my job manik had a little cabin built for me that is right beside his office and connected through a door so when he yells I can hear hahaha
I sit at my computer trying to find these clients but I couldn't, it was almost like these clients weren't ours and someone just slipped the file in.
"Hello, Arun" I whisper on the phone as I call the IT guy
"Yes miss vicious" he answers making me giggle
He calls me miss vicious because apparently manik is mr vicious and since I work for him, I have to be just as scary which is so funny cause I am a total teddy bear
"I actually need something from you"
"Ohh finally, I never thought this day would come" he flirts
"Arun I am not flirting" I mumble on the phone
"God damn girl just flirt back with me" he says making me laugh
Him and I are actually such good friends, we send each other cray funny memes
"Hey on the clock and if the boss finds out, he will fire my ass and then yours"
"Yess perfect, lets go on a date then"
"Ahahah arunnn im serious" I laugh
"Okay whats up"
"I can't access the cameras right outside of manik's cabin, can you give me access to it please?"
"I can't"
'Why not? Do I need monster's permission?" I ask
"Nope, the maintenance guy came in earlier, so the cameras a down for the next bit but they should be up in lets' see mhm an hour and I can give you access then"
"Perfect thank you so much"
"so no date huh?"
"No arunnn"
"Argh fine, but one of these days you will say yes"
"Only time will tell Mr Singhania" I tease
"I am melting, call me that again" he jokes making me laugh even louder
"Stop laughing at me" he whines
"Okay okay fine"
"so date?"
"Arunnnn"
"Bye nandini"
"Bye arun" i giggle
When I walk back into manik's cabin to let him know of the situation, this man sat there with the strangest look, his nose flaring as if he had found out his cat died.
The pen in his hands was being clicked to fast that I could barely even keep up with how fast his thumb clicked the pen
"Manik"
"Why the fuck are you flirting with my employees?" He asks glaring at me
"Excuse me?"
"You are flirting with Arun" he states
"Okay first of all, him and I are just friend and second of all, how do you know what conversation I was having with him?" I ask knowing I did mention Arun's name
He doesn't say anything but continues to glare
"Manik"
"I am the boss here and you do not get to ask questions. Now what the hell is going on with this file"
"Well someone put it here but I can't figure out who. Once I do, I will let you know"I say
"It better be fast nandini"
"I am trying but I need at least an hour, the cameras are down"
"Go home then"
"You are not firing me" I yell
"If you use that tone again, I damn will fire you" he yells back
i take a huge breath before I sit on the chair in front of him, here is the thing, both manik and I know he can't fire me, the contract bounds him from doing so.
