Chapter 4

i take a huge breath before I sit on the chair in front of him, here is the thing, both manik and I know he can't fire me, the contract bounds him from doing so.

"Why are you so upset?" I ask calmly

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that manik's temper is always high, he gets pissed about anything and usually I have to be calm and ask what's going on instead of being stubborn like him

"Multiple things actually, you being irresponsible about files being here that are just mysterious, flirting with my employees and being this calm about it all. Just because the contracts bounds us together doesn't mean I can't fire you"

"Actually thats exactly what it means but thats beside the point. Arun is a good friend and no we weren't flirting"

"Don't you dare lie to me" he groans

"Give him a call and ask" I say shrugging my shoulders

"Don't order me, get to work" he says

"Would you like some food" I ask wondering if he is hangry

"Get me pasta" he orders

There we go, he gets angry about random shit when he is hungry and it is currently 2:45 pm so yeah he is hungry

I was standing in the cafe waiting for the order when someone bumps my shoulder making me look back, finding cabir I grin hugging him.

Cabir and I have grown close together, he is like my older brother, and his wife navya, she is so sweet too

"hiiiii cabirrr" I greet

"Hey kid, what are you doing here?"

"Monster is hangry" I reply making him laugh

"Is he now?"

"Yup, he was all 'I will fire you and blah blah'" I mimic his voice

"Hahaha he made the contract so you are bound and even he is for 5 years" cabir says laughing

"Oh I know but then he was like 'I can damn well fire you'" I mimic his voice again

"Ahhh hahahah that is so funny hahaha" he couldn't stop laughing making me giggle too

"Nandini" the girl behind the counter calls for me

"Thank you" I say grabbing the food

"Is that for you?" Cabir asks pointing at the iced coffee

"Nope, for the monster, maybe it will cool him down"

"Nah, not even ice can do that"

"What about liquid nitrogen?" I ask

"Try it" he says like its no big deal making me laugh

"I will probably be dead if I try anything of that sort"

"Nah, he is a monster, I would not doubt any of it. If glares could kill, I'd already be 6 feet under"

"Ohh under who?" He teases

"Disgusting cabir, so bad" I mumble like I am so disappointed

"Okay no, don't do that, you know you can make anyone feel guilty?" He asks

"No I didn't know that, what really? I have never heard that before like ever"

That is actually so surprising, no one has ever mentioned that to me, not that I've had anyone so close to me prior to this. I have always been the kind fo person who likes being alone because I have been alone
