“Come, hafta meet all your sisters and brothers.” João carried his new chicken through the house.

“João?”

“Yes mommy” he turned around looking at Amina.

“No chickens in the house.”

“I'm just taking her outside.”

“Okay, go ahead. I'm sorry” He smiled running to the back door. He struggled to open it with one hand.

“Help! Papa help me!” Jamie rushed over thinking he hurt himself or something.

“What do you need help with?”

“Won't open.” Jamie moved the wood behind the door before unlocking the door and sliding it open. João ran out, tripping over the railing. The chicken flew out of his arms and ran free. Amina shook her head with a smile. The boy was so clumsy, adorable but clumsy.

“I'm okay, papa”

“I know.” Jamie picked him up and brushed his knees off.

“Owww” He whined when he saw that his knee was scratched.

“Oh, stop it. You're fine. Go show the new chicken to Vaca” Amina walked over.

“Vaca!!” He chased the black and white chicken. That's his chicken.

“Oww! Bad girl Vaca! I'm gonna tell mama you bited me. Say sorry or I'm telling” He stared at the chicken with a hand on his hip.

“Mommy” he cried to Amina.

“Aiya. Stop with the waterworks, kipenzi” Amina closed the door behind him and took his shoes off. João held his hand out as tears spilled out of the corners of his eyes.

“You're okay. I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt you. I'll go make them some lunch, will you feed them?”

“I'll feed everyone but Vaca.” He pouted looking for his papa.

“Daddy! Open the door.”

“I'm using the bathroom, mimmo”

“It's ‘Mergency!!” Jamie unlocked the door.He put a towel over his lap before telling João to come in.

“Vaca hurted me, right here” He held his hand out and Jamie kissed his hand.

“Better?”

“Yup. Pee-yew you're stinky. Need a bath” He pinched his nose with his ‘hurt’ finger.

“You need a bath”

“Well, you smell like caca. So you need a bath”

“Okay, thank you João. Get out now please” João giggled leaving the bathroom.

“I love you dada” He came back into the bathroom.

“Papa, say papa and I love you too” He ran off leaving the door wide open.

João went to his bedroom jumping on his bed. He sat up when he realized something was missing. He got off his bed destroying his freshly made bed looking for it. He then made his way to his toy chest and poured all the toys out. He stormed downstairs making everyone turn their attention to him.

“Mommy”

“Yes”

“Can't find my sharky”

“He's on your bed, baby. Go look”

“Hims not there!”

“Who are you raising your voice at?” She put the spoon down and looked at him with a hand on her hip.
