Running Away

Amina's POV:

"M'Running away!"

"Okay, don't forget Sharky" I held his plushy for him.

He snatched it from me before putting him on the floor. He pulled a hoodie over his head before putting on his bookbag and picking Sharky up.

"Do you want mama to pack you some snacks for your trip?" He nodded so I grabbed one of his lunch bags packing him some lunch.

I couldn't believe it. I decided to let him run away, at least until Jamie got home.

"Here baby"

"Thank you mama"

"You're welcome." I smiled and kissed his cheek before unlocking the door. I wasn't worried in the slightest since our home is surrounded by gates and full time security. It was a must have for this house.

He left out walking down the steps before down the driveway. I watched him from out the window until I couldn't see him anymore. Then I brought a blanket outside to sit on so I could keep an eye on him.

He walked down the main road for a little while before sitting under a tree. I decided to let Jamie know as he was on his way home and I wanted him to be careful when driving in.

"So he's run away?"

"Yeah, he's sitting under a tree eating his lunch."

"What did you do to him?"

"I told him no more tv because it's time to take a nap and he packed his bags and told me he's running away. I made him some lunch and sent him on his way"

"It's supposed to rain in a few, you should get him inside"

"Is it?"

"Yeah that's what it said"

"I mean, it's just a little rain." Just as I said that a loud clap of thunder sounded.

"Alright. I'm going to bring him in, I'll talk to you later. I love you, be safe"

"I love you too, I'll be home in fifteen"

Once I looked up I saw João standing up. He looked around before running away from the house.

"Joey! This way" He turned around running to me.

"Mama, mama"

"I'm here. Did the thunder scare you?" He nodded, holding my hand. I grabbed the blanket and took him inside.

"Mama!"

"What's wrong?"

He tried pulling me back outside.

"What's wrong?"

"My sharky! Him gonna die by himself!!"

"We have to go fast Joey" he ran outside but the flash of lightning scared him and he ran back to me clinging to my legs.

"I'll ask daddy to get Sharky, Come inside" He frowned but walked in the house and took off his shoes.

"Dont be sad bubba"

"Sharky gonna die."

"He's not going to die, love. He's a shark, he still needs water every once in a while, Right?"

"Uh huh"

That seemed to work for now. Now I just had to wait until Jamie got home.

"Hey baby" Jamie walked into the house walking over to his wife.

"Where's Sharky?" She asked before kissing her husband.
