MALAK'S POV

I'm tired physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm drained and I don't think I can take it anymore. All people have been doing for the past five days is troop into this house and I have to give a damn fake smile and serve. Well I'm done playing wife. I had to push my registration process in the academy to tomorrow because I couldn't make it today. The whole essence of this marriage is me going to that academy and I won't let random people ruin that. I don't give a fuck about what Tafida will think.

"You have to look for someone to play wife with you tomorrow" I say when he placed his used plate inside the sink to wash it. In my 5 days stay with him, I noticed that he's a clean freak. Washing everything used without waiting for the maid or chef to do so. Cleaning every surface after using and oh......he makes breakfast every morning while he gist with his daughter who's usually sitting on the bar stools around the kitchen island.

"What's going on princess?" He ask without really looking up at me. "I have to go to the academy to complete my registration tomorrow. So the guests?" I ask. "They'll have to wait" he shrugs. "Nadeen has to resume school tomorrow from the mid term break, and I also have a work emergency I need to attend to" He adds. "Oh" I managed to say. I expect him to throw a tantrum about me going out five days after the marriage but guess he didn't forget why I actually married him.

"What time are you leaving for the academy?"  "My appointment says nine" I reply. "The other driver called in sick and Abbas is taking Nadeen to school. The academy is on my way to the office, I'll drop you" he explains. "Don't worry I'll find some other way" I shrug and he shakes his head. "Some other way better not be Uber."  "Yeah? And what's wrong with Uber?" I raised my eyebrows and he raised a single one in reply. God I wish I can do that. "I'm driving you" he says with finality in his tone. "Yeah whatever" I roll my eyes and even before he could say something, Nadeen who was in the living room with her Nanny watching paw patrol burst into the kitchen.

"Papa can I please have chocolates?" She ask. "It's past 8 peach, plus your bedtime is in a few minutes" he turned to look at her as he says it and she pouts a little. She turned to look at me eyes pleading. "I want chocolates" she says again and I almost agree because of how cute she looked before changing my mind. "We have to agree with Papa on that" I gave her a sad smile and she sighs dramatically making me laugh while her father smiled with a shake of his head and turned to wash the plate I used for dinner. I promise I'm not dirty or disorganised-Maybe a little disorganised- person, but I'm not also a clean freak like husband dearest. Guess he'll have to wash my plates every day. I'm sorry, not sorry

I stood by the island in silence, with a little smile as I listen to Nadeen tell me all about her school while her father comments on a thing or two and laughed once or twice to something she said. "Time for bed" he interrupts gently after he dried his hands with the hand towel and putting it back to where it belongs. "Can we add few more minutes?" she pleads. "There's school tomorrow" Na'eem shakes his head. "But papa...I'm telling Jaanu about my school" she whined. "You can do that tomorrow after Islamiyya" he suggested and she just nodded with a frown.

"I can take you to bed if you want" I offer. "Papa reads me bedtime stories and helps me say my bedtime duas" she said and I nodded remembering the first time we met. He was reading her bedtime stories. Not wanting to disrupt their daily night routine, I clared my throat. "I'll leave you to it then, goodnight" I press a kiss to Nadeen's cheek with a small smile. "Good night" they almost said in unison and I turn to leave without a word while I hear them walk behind me as they talk.

~

Shit! I repeat, shit!!! I overslept on the first day I'm supposed to go to the academy. I woke up around seven just when Na'eem came back from his run and helped Nadeen get ready, combed her hair like I promised. And when she went to the kitchen to have breakfast with her father I came back upstairs to have a five minutes sleep. Let's just say I slept for way more minutes than I intended to and I have to run down the staircase in 15 minutes or I'm going to be super late.
