MALAK'S POV

I might have shed a few tears after the whole drama that happened with Na'eem hours ago and I locked up myself in my room. I heard when Haifa came and the maids try to notify me but I told them to do whatever they think is necessary. I don't have the energy to deal with that at all.

I tried to stay up and wait to say goodnight to Nadeen before going to bed but they probably returned her past 8:00pm and I fell asleep as early as 7:30. All I wanted to do was escape from the chaos around me.

The next morning came so fast, or maybe I just don't want to wake up and face the world. Thankfully it's a Tuesday and I don't have to go to the academy or I wouldn't have known how to go through the day.

My stomach grumbled notifying me of how hungry I am but after Zarah's words yesterday, I'm afraid my repulsion for food is starting all over again after all the efforts made.

Lulu stares at me and I sigh. "I know I've been a bad mommy lately Lulu, I'm sorry okay. Mama is just going through a lot" I say scratching her head a little and she rubbed herself on me once as if understanding before she jumped to where her plate full of cat feed is.

Just when I'm done lecturing myself about how life must go on and mustered the energy to get out of bed the door opened revealing Nadeen. A huge smile break free and a certain joy filled my insides as she smiled back and rushed to me.

"Mama" She murmured engulfed In our tight little hug. "Hi baby, slept well?" I ask as I lay her beside me on the bed. She's already in her school uniform and could spare a few minutes conversation without getting late for school. "You were not there to put me to bed yesterday night" she said with a pout and my heart broke for starting to let the little girl down so early. "I'm so sorry cupcake, won't happen again" I stroke her hair gently before placing a kiss on her forehead. "And I'm sorry I didn't wake up early to help you get ready for school today too" I add.

"It's fine, Papa said you're not feeling well" she said after a while. "He did?" I ask still stroking her hair. "Yes and that's why we couldn't make cupcakes, you slept early and I stayed with Amara and Ahmad throughout the day" she explained and I didn't know why Na'eem said that to her, probably to not let her feel sad.

"Don't worry Nads, we can make cupcake later in the day since you don't have islamiyya" I say. "Promise?" Her face lits up. "Promise" I smile back and her face fell a little. "All okay?" I ask. "Are you feeling better? Papa said not to bother you" she said. "I'm better baby, we'll make them later okay?" I smile, extremely happy that she cares about my wellbeing.

"You'll be late for school" I announce as I glance at the table clock and I helped her get up and down the bed. "Eat, study well, don't cause trouble and play okay?" I say fixing her shirt collar a little and she nods. "That's my good girl" I smile. "Take care, I love you" I say placing a kiss on her cheek. "I love you Mama" she replies kissing me back and I smile as I wave back and she moved out of the room.

I took my time to do my routine so I don't by any chance bump into Na'eem, it's the last thing I want to do now. So I made sure it's past the time he usually leaves for office before going downstairs to get my regular morning dose of caffeine.

The first person I set my eyes on is the little witch I completely forgot about sitting around the kitchen counter scrolling through her phone as she munch on her fruits. "Morning" she said with a smile I couldn't decipher. "Morning Haifa, how are you enjoying our home?" I ask giving her my own smile. "Enjoying it" she replied. "Glad to hear that, we like getting our guests comfortable" I don't know what triggered her, maybe the guest part because she definitely doesn't want to be a guest in this house but her smile fell and she only nods before turning away from me.
