MALAK'S POV
So, free advice....Never ever piss off someone like Usman Tafida. Thank you very much!
I learnt that the hard way and I'll hate the same for anyone, hence that advice.
I should have known his anger is something I should quite stay away from since day one. I mean he's too calm for his own good and the quiet ones are the freakiest ones too.
Na'eem said he believed whatever I said the other time and he has forgiven me too but I don't think he's over it completely. His actions said that.
He doesn't even try to rile me up these days, he's just so plain. He's so nice I have nothing to complain about and it's eating me up.
It's like when Mama used to beat me up when I was child and I'll shout "Mama kiyi haquri" and she'll continue beating me up saying "Ayy haqurin ne haka Malak. That's why I'm only beating you for it"
You know something is wrong but have no way of proving it, plus any possible way of voicing it out is blocked.
This is the worst punishment ever, including silent treatment. At least with that I'll know you're ignoring me because you're angry but this...this is honestly super frustrating.
I would have visited Fadul for the wedding prep but ever since the Kuje incident, I have no intention of going anywhere apart from the Academy. Shi ma dai don dole ne.
Fadul said she'll drop by today since she's getting off work around mid afternoon to discuss some stuff with me regarding the wedding.
"Heyyy" I hug her before settling down next to her on the sofa in the living room upstairs. "Hi" she forced out a smile then bite her lip.
"All good?" I ask concerned. I know when she's tired because of work but this is a whole different type of stress I'm seeing. "Nothing, just wedding jitters" she shrugs and I raise my brows not believing her for a second.
"Fadul, Hankalin ki ya kwanta da Hamza? Not that I have anything against him but are you ready to spend the rest of your life with him?" I ask and she sighed. "Malak I thought we're over this" she adds.
"I'm just worried and I want you happy, that's all" I smile. "I'm happy. I chose Hamza, he loves me and we'll get there" She smiled back twisting the ring on her finger. "Sorry if I sounded too pushy" I apologise with a sheepish smile and she shakes her head as if saying that didn't cross her mind at all.
"I want you to help me get some stuff ready. Ammi has been on the rant, wai 4 months is not enough for her to plan two people's wedding" Fadul sighed and I laugh. "You can't blame her, this is her first wedding and she's sending off two at the same time" I defend my favourite aunt and Fadul only rolled her eyes.
"You got married in a month and everything was beautiful, she's just being dramatic. She wants me to take a leave from work two weeks before the wedding and go back to Kano for whatever" Fadul kept complaining. "If you don't go back two weeks prior is it until the wedding day that you'll go?" I raise my brows and she roll her eyes at my sarcasm.
"Someone tell her that 4 events are too much then" "A'ah Fadul why are you against everything Aunty Ammu is trying to do?" I glare. "Ehn, you'll never disagree with your favourite aunt dama" she replies and I chuckle.
"Hey let them have it. You should enjoy it as well, this is a one time thing Fadul. Plus Mama has been on the rant as well. Favourite son getting married and all" I explain and Fadul only hummed to that.
We discussed the events Aunty Ammu is planning on having. She wants a kamu, luncheon or Mother's eve and then Wushe Wushe so Fadul's paternal side of the family won't complain of not having a single event of thier culture.
