MALAK'S POV
By the time I went back to the room, it's already Magrib.
I performed my ablution in the living area toilet before going to the room again to help Na'eem perform his own ablution.
While he's at it, I prayed and waited for him to come out and do his own prayers as well. He's still not exactly okay so he prayed while sitting.
"I want to go home and get some stuff for the night" I say to Na'eem immediately he's done with his after prayer duas. "You don't have to stay the night if you don't want to" he offers and I shake my head a little.
"I just need to go grab some stuff for the night since your discharge tomorrow might have to be in the afternoon or evening" I explain.
"It's late" he glances at the clock on the table. "It's 7:00pm" I deadpan. "They got me in bright daylight Sa'adah. I won't have you alone at night" he shakes his head.
"I can go with the intel" I suggested seeing how stressed he is over me going back to the house with just the driver. "Not reliable enough, where were they this afternoon?" He ask. "That's a point" I agree with a sigh.
"If you can, call one of the maids to get your stuff and the driver can go get it" he says.
It's not the best idea out there and I want to argue and disagree with him but he's only looking out for me and he just got injured, so he's off the hook for some few days. Instead I agreed.
He made the call to the driver while I go call Raliya to tell her all that'll need to be brought.
Immediately after that, I retreat to the living room leaving the door halfway open just in case Na'eem needs something but also avoiding him at the same time. I'm not ready to have a conversation after what happened with his family.
So waiting for the driver to be back, I busy myself with a video call to Adda Humairah which she abandoned and left baby Salama with the phone to talk. Makes it even more better if you ask me.
Few minutes later, a nurse brought in the bag sent from home and I ended the call.
There's a small wardrobe that'll take the few things I asked apart from the toiletries I told them to buy in a mall for me and Na'eem which I'll keep in the bathroom.
"So...? What's going on?" Na'eem ask as I fold the Jilbab I removed recently leaving me in my evening gown. "What?" I raise both my brows because for the millionth time I can't raise a single one, I hate my life!
"You know what I'm talking about" he sighs. "You have to elaborate" I shrug keeping the Jilbab inside the wardrobe.
"Mammah" he states. "What about her?" I ask turning to look at him. "What she said earlier...." he starts before I cut him off.
"Doesn't matter, will leave in like 7 months and few days. I'll survive" I gave him a clipped smile and his face still remains expressionless.
"Can you stop bringing up you leaving every time I try to make a conversation?" His voice is way too calm for the storm I see brewing in his eyes. "It's the truth, what do you expect me to say?" I fold my arms waiting for a comment.
"Malak" he warns and shit he's damn serious when he calls me with that particular name.
"This is not the right time for this, focus on recovering" I say trying to end the matter.
As much as I want to fight this without even knowing what it actually is or the reason behind it, Na'eem wouldn't start an argument with me if I were feeling sick, so the matured part of me that rarely shows took over and I let it be for the both of us. None of us needed what we were about to get into right now.
