MALAK'S POV
"You don't look like someone leaving home" Nafisa raised her brows at me and I roll my eyes dragging my suitcase to the door.
"I don't know what you want me to do Nafee, roll on the floor and hold on to Mama's gown shouting and crying about how I'm going to miss her?" I ask and she chuckles with a shake of her head.
"Fine, do what you want. I myself can't wait for the day this holiday is going to end" she adds. "And you're mama's favourite" I scoff with a sigh. "Ya Imran is, don't we all know that?" She ask and I shake my head at that.
"So that means you're just the spoilt last child?" I ask and she scrunches her nose. "Too mean for someone that won't be seeing me for months" she adds. "Come here" I pull her into a hug and she laughs. "I'm going to miss you......not" she says to me. "Whatever" I roll my eyes letting her go .
"Anty iya abunda zaa fitar kenan?" Altine asks standing by the door as she drags the last suitcase there. "Yes, Nagode Altine" I nod with a smile and she nods smiling back before moving out as well.
"Don't give Mama a heart attack" I warn Nafisa hugging her one last time and she laughed. "You know I can't be as bad as you in that aspect" she jokes. "True" I nod with a smirk.
Kano has come to an end.
I said goodbye to all my family members the day before and even visited some for the Sallama. Anty Zee and Uncle Aslam were in the house the night before and even without that, we're eventually going to meet when we get back to Abuja.
Baba is not around but we said our final goodbyes in the morning. Nafisa is now the only one in the house apart from Mama.
"Allah ya kiyaye hanya. Remember what I told you" Mama warns when we go out of the living room to see me off. I only nod but of course I remember. Tips on how to reduce my weight, how to charm my husband, making sure I get a baby soon so people stop talking.....blah blah blah!
I waved at them both as the car zooms out of the house.
I quickly call Na'eem to inform him before boarding the flight just because I promised to or in all honesty because I want to do that.
"Hi" he said through the speaker then I hear him speak again probably a little bit farther from the phone. "Peach, can you stop jumping around?" I chuckled to that. "Hey" I called. "Sorry that was just Nadeen being hyper" his attention is now back to the phone.
"It's cool. I'm about to board" I state. "Oh yeah?" He ask. "Ooh! Someone sounds excited. Can't wait to have me back?" I tease and he chuckles lightly. "Nadeen can't wait to have you here" he adds. And you?
"Thanks for hurting my ego but tell Nads I'll be there soon" I smile. "Oh we're gonna take off" I add. "See you soon then, Allah ya kiyaye" he replies. "Ameen thumma ameen bye" I end the call.
I used the whole silent flight to my advantage as I go through my notes for the academy. I know I have a shit ton of painting to do when I go back because of the break but I'm more than happy to immerse into my art world.
The pilot finally announced our arrival and I don't know why I suddenly start feeling giddy. Oh I know! I can't wait to meet my Nadeen.
Finally stepping out of the plane, I let out a sigh of relief I didn't know I was actually holding onto. We're back home baby!
The suprise of my life however is waiting for me just by the car.
I didn't know when a squeal escapes me as the little girl runs towards me.
I was so quick to kneel and open my arms wide open to have her in a really tight hug.
"Mama" she squeals. "My baby" I squeal too rocking us both and I pull back to look at her. Her face starts to scrunch up as her eyes fill with tears.
