MALAK'S POV

"Hey where's your head at?" Fadul calls and I almost shrieked before keeping down the jar halfway filled with one of her famous smoothies. "Sorry" I mutter with a sigh closing the jar and dumping it in the fridge.

Nadia, Fadul's flatmate is out because her cousin visited and she's out to see him while Shahida, Fadul's best friend would've joined but something came up and she ended up not making it. So it's just me and Fadul.

"You're going to send me a picture with each dress" Fadul claps excitedly and I laugh. "Of course I would, my very own fashion designer" I answer and she laughs too. "Where will you be without me?" She fans her face smugly. "In a corner crying" I answered. "That's right!" she snaps her fingers and we both laugh.

Today we went to the mall to shop for my graduation dress and instead of buying one which was initially the plan, we had to buy 4 dresses because it is simply what happens when two indecisive people go shopping without someone keeping them in check.

"So how's the wedding prep?" I ask and shrugs. "You know" she adds. "No I don't" "I'm busy with work, Shahida has stuff to deal with at home and I just.... we'll get through it" She finally shakes her head at the end as if not wanting to indulge more on the topic.

I know Shahida, her best friend have a lot of things at home ever since she lost her father in secondary school but Fadul never give more details than necessary, she's always protecting her best friend's secrets.

"I should get home, Nadeen will be back from school anytime from now" I start packing the disposable fancy bottles of smoothies she gave me and putting them into the disposable paper bag.

"Anty Ammu has been calling a lot and so does Mama" I say as she opens the backdoor for me to dump the items in my customised Mercedes Benz....I love rocking that baby.

"The wedding is not happening until December!" She groans and I turn to look at her. "Which is in three months and few days so of course you don't expect her to just sit around doing nothing" I answer and she rolls her eyes. "Whatever" she adds.

It's not a secret how Fadul is not at all interested in the wedding prep and I'm scared she might not want the wedding too.

"It's going to happen anyways so let's make it a banging one" I say and she shrugs. "Weddings are overrated" she adds.

I know that feeling...I felt the same on my wedding mainly because I have no intention of getting married, hopefully it's not the same for her.

I didn't push further as I get into the car and say our good-byes before zooming out of the apartment.

By the time I got home, Nadeen already got back from school. It's the first week of a new session so there was a lot to discuss and a lot of questions to answer.

Thankfully, it's a Thursday so Nadeen took a nap after her shower and I was left alone to wander around the house with Lulu and the new cutie patootie Nadeen named Missy.

I didn't have to turn to know who got into the room. The cologne, the silent steps....I think I know him well enough by now.

"Hi" he says softly wrapping his hands around me from behind. "Hey" I try to hide my smile but failed. He would have gone Cuckoo if he knew the cats were in the room just a few minutes ago but that's a story he'll never know.

"How was the shopping?" he asked. "It was good" I answer getting away from his hold and turning to look at him for the first time since he got in. "The card is there" I motioned at the black AMEX on the bedside drawer in Naeem's side of the bed.

"You sure you got everything?" he ask glancing at it then his attention shifts back to me. "Yeah. I couldn't decide on a single dress too so I got more than one" I give a sheepish smile.
