•Chapter 37•

MALAK'S POV

"Yeah sure" I nod to what Nadeen was saying as I comb her hair. "Thank you Mama" she turns to me with a smile and I smile back kissing her forehead.

Immediately I'm done she jumped from the bed and head to the garden to play with Lulu like I promised her she would after school.

"Hi" I smile at Na'eem looking up a little before returning my gaze back to my MacBook engrossed in what I'm watching.

"Taking breaks from painting?" He ask sitting beside me and I shrug pausing the episode. "I'm done actually" I smile proudly. Oh of course I'm more than happy with my progress. Even with someone trying to poison me, I managed to get through it.

"Oh that's wonderful, when are you taking them to the academy?" He ask. See I love it when someone is interested in whatever it is I'm doing even if they don't get it. I know Na'eem doesn't understand art much but what matters is he cares.

"Maybe in a week" I reply him. "Do I get to see them before that?" There goes that question again. "Oh you'll definitely see them on the graduation exhibition" I reply with a smirk. "What if I don't make it?" Is he teasing me right now? Oh my heart will shatter if he doesn't show up.

"If you don't show up, it's your loss" I say probably not able to conceal my facial expression on him not coming because he starts to laugh.

"Easy there, I'll show up" he bops the tip of my nose like a little girl. "Whatever you do is your choice" I shrug swatting his hand away from my nose.

"Speaking of the Academy, Ria was expelled" I start again my eyes never leaving his for a second and he only shrugs. "You did it then?" My suspicions are confirmed by his nonchalance. "She's a threat and you said not to take legal actions, the least I could do is remove her from your vicinity" He defends.

Na'eem wanted to take legal actions on Ria as well as Haifa but I told him not to. It's going to look like I convinced him into doing that and his relationship with his family is only going to take the wrong path.

Haifa's parents apologised personally even though her mother was not willing. Haifa was also forced to apologise and her parents wants to get her married to one of her cousins living in Malaysia.

Same goes with Ria's family, they came and apologised. She was manipulated by Haifa and if the culprit won't be punished why the accomplice? It's just better to have them away from me.

"I just don't want your family to think I'm behind all this" I bite my lip. "You aren't" he gives me a look that says 'Let that sink' "Only you will believe that" I grumble under my breath

"What are you watching?" he ignores what I said with a little frown. I didn't reply but instead push the MacBook to his lap and hit play.

In my  defense I only moved closer to have a better view of the screen but few minutes later we're in the cozy mood with my head on his shoulder and his hands around me.

"So...I was thinking" he starts and my eyes look up at him waiting to hear what he have to say. "Since you'll be free for the next few days, how about we go somewhere?" He adds.

"Where?" I sit upright confused at what he was saying. "I have a four days business trip to Madrid and I was thinking maybe you could join?" He ask again and I would have said yes no question asked but then, I'm a baby girl and how will this trip affect our relationship that's about to end soon?

"What of Nadeen?" That could serve as a big excuse. "I'll have a talk with the head of thier school" he reply and I nod not really sure.

"But you can stay if you don't want to, it's fine" he starts to dismiss the idea almost as soon as he sees the uncertainty in my eyes.
