Chapter 40

Athalia's POV

"Good morning, boss," bungad na ani ni Caleb nang bahagyang idinilat ko ang aking mga mata.

Caleb...?

Caleb?

CALEB?!?!!

I blinked numerous of times, processing why the hell Caleb is inside my room, in my condo?!

Pinapasok ba siya ni mama? Bakit sa kwarto ko pa? Teka bakit masakit katawan ko?!

Mabilis akong napaupo mula sa pagkakahiga ngunit agad ding napangiwi sa sakit. Bakit masakit ang ibaba ko?!?

Damn, did I get stabbed on my vagina?!

Fucking shit! I was planning on making babies, this can't be happening!

I flinched when Caleb held my shoulders to lean on against his chest. I froze in the moment as I felt my nerves getting electric shocked with his warm touch.

"Careful, was I too rough last night?" he asked in a teasingly tone.

Natigilan ako. Last night? May nangyari ba kagabi na hindi ko alam? I closed my eyes trying to remember what happened last night but only blurry visions were being played.

Masyado naparami yata akong nainom kagabi at wala akong ni isa na maalala sa nangyari.

"Hmm, you forgot?" he asked and kissed my hair.

I bit my lower lip and roamed my eyes around. Ngayon ko lang napansin na hindi ito ang kwarto ko. The interior of the room was like a luxurious suite in a high-end hotel.

Plus the fact that I am covered with a thick comforter, fucking naked! And Caleb is beside me!

My eyes widened in shock as I puzzle out everything.

Fuck.

"Okay, I'll make you remember again," he chuckled before flipping me on top of him.

"Shit!" I moaned.

"Athalia!" agad na bungad ni mama pagkapasok ko sa penthouse. Nakatayo siya sa may bandang pinto ng kusina habang may dalang mangkok bago ibinaba ito sa countertop na nasa tabi niya at lakad takbong sinalubong ako.

She was still wearing an apron and holding a spatula when she wrapped her arms around me and tighten up the hug.

"Jusmiyo apat na araw kang nawawala, Athalia! Hindi mo manlang ako tinawagan o sinabihan na aalis ka! Kahit mga kaibigan mo hindi din alam kung saan ka nagpunta, lahat kami nag aalala kakahanap sa'yo!" sumbong niya na parang bata.

I felt her kiss my hair and slowly caressing my back.

Kumalas ako sa yakap niya at hinarap si mama. There were tears forming around her eyes as she looked at me in concern.

"Okay lang po ako mama. May ginawa lang kaya nawalan na ako ng oras para magpaalam." I have her a reassuring smile.

Mabilis niyang pinaalis ang luhang namumuo sa mata niya bago ako hinila paupo sa sofa.

Mama scanned me from head to toe as she held my hands tightly. Concern was written on her face as she looked at me solemnly.

I was taken aback. A shock of realisation washed over me. The way she looked at me, with genuine concern, was unexpected. For the first time, I felt seen, cared for. I know it is bad seeing your mother worried but I couldn't help but feel contented knowing she is concerned about her daughter.

I've always thought that she ignored me, but looking at her now, her face full of worry, I realised my mother had changed.

I never saw that way back in highschool. I always thought she neglected me and didn't care, but seeing her worry and concerned about me makes me feel the feeling I had always longed for as a teenaged girl.
