Health explanations about ARS in this chapter are being researched by the author. I didn't make all of this, I searched about this kind of syndrome and dug deeper to have the right information about it. I am not a doctor and I am not a professional health care worker, all of these are being researched so that authors can provide such information to everyone.

Chapter 9

I don't really feel it.

"ARS? Parang nabasa ko na yan, it's a disease or something caused by a radiation," sumingkit ang mata ni Angel habang may hinahalukay sa kanyang isipan, "ARS stands for acute radiation syndrome, I think yan yun, wait let me asked dad."

Umalis si Angel habang ako naiwang nakatulala at nakatingin sa kawalan, how can my father have that kind of disease or something like that if he's an engineer, wala naman atang ganon sa site nila diba? That's from a hazardous material. Paanong nagkaganon?

"Dad, do you know what is ARS or Acute Radiation Syndrome?"

"ARS? Minsan lang ako makarinig ng ganyang tanong mostly they already searched it on google." sagot ni Tito sa kanyang anak.

"Gusto kong marinig ng mula po sa inyo, Tito," He's a doctor, he's a professional. He can answer questions that other can't.

Tumango tango naman si Tito "Well, It's a rare case for me because all my life wala akong naging pasyente na may ARS,"

Is it a rare condition?

"ARS or Acute Radiation Syndrome, is an acute illness caused by radiation of the entire body or most of the body. The major cause of this syndrome is depletion of immature parenchymal stem cells in specific tissues." Nagsimulang magpaliwanag si Tito.

"There are people who suffered from ARS, the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs, the firefighters that first responded after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant event in 1986, and such us more but those are the example of people who suffered from the exposure, one of the well-known example of people who suffered from high exposure of Radiation causing to have ARS."

"May symptoms ba yan, Dad?"

"There are a lot of symptoms, search about ARS and you will see the symptoms," sagot ni Tito sa kanyang anak.
