Minor Trigger Warning: Homophobia
Conversation became blissful between the two. Happily laughing away and ignoring everyone else around them. As they melded into background noise behind them. Vincent tried his best to eat his food as best as he could. Taking large breaks between bites, and swallowing as quickly as he could. Rody was done with his food while Vincent had only downed about a fourth. Rody seemed to notice, but did not make any comment on it. Just talking about random subjects from things like customers. Though most of their date did remain a comfortable silence. Something that was nice for the two. After he finished half of his meal he called it good. Rody seemed decently satisfied with his food consumption. As they were being given the ticket Rody began to pull out his wallet. "Rody." Rody looked up at him. Seemingly a little frightened. "I said I'm paying." Vincent said in his usual threatening tone. Rody placed his wallet back into his pocket slumping a bit. Vincent pulled out his wallet and grabbed the euros and placed it back into the checkbook. Rody was making himself seem smaller. Almost invisible. Vincent sighed as he looked at Rody. "I apologize for being harsh, but you aren't in much of a position to pay for yourself right now." Vincent said as Rody sighed. "I know it's, just... I don't feel like I deserve it." Vincent raised a brow but before he could ask the waitress came to pick up the check. She opened the book to see the euros inside. "Do you need any change?" She asked. "No thank you." Vincent replied. As she smiled and nodded before walking off. Rody was the first to stand quickly followed by Vincent. They walked side by side. Their hands brushing against each other every now and again. Yet they did not interlock until they were outside and in the parking lot. Away from any prying eyes. That was until Vincent's caught a few whispers. Rody quickly removed his hand from Vincent's as he stared over at a family who were walking up towards it. The parents seemingly whisper words of discouragement towards them. Vincent paid no mind. They were people with small minds. That's how things were around here, during this time. He took a look at Rody. His shoulders were up, and his eyes were downcasted. Neither of them said another word until they were in the car. "Are you alright Rody?" Vincent asked as he slowly brought a hand to Rody's cheek. Rody didn't look back at him. "Aren't you ever worried that there may be something wrong with us?" Vincent raised a brow. "What do you mean?" Rody looked back at him. "All of our peers are with the opposite sex, and we are not. Don't you ever think that it may be wrong in some way. Like those parents looked so upset just by us." Rody said, tears were welling in his eyes. Vincent's gaze softened as he brought his other hand to hold Rody's. "Nothing is wrong with us. Everyone else just thinks there is something wrong with us, and honestly it doesn't matter." Rody's spirits lifted, but only by a bit. Behind his eyes Vincent could see a shred of doubt. "Let me ask you this. Do you feel happy being with a man?" Vincent asked. Rody looked to the side. "I think..." Rody's eyes met his. "I think I am." Rody said as he interlocked his hand with Vincents. "Especially since that man is you." Rody brought Vincent's hand up to his face. Planting a kiss on his knuckles. Vincent gave him a sweet smile back letting a slight pink dust his cheeks. "Then it shouldn't be wrong. Especially since it makes you happy." Vincent replied as he moved his hand on Rody's face to the back. Letting it entangle in his red locks as he locked lips with Rody. Rody's hand found its way to his shoulder as the kiss was a bit long, but gentle. Vincent pulled back as Rody continued to stare in his eyes. Before leaning his head on Vincent's shoulder. Vincent smiled as he placed the key in the ignition. Having to remove his hands so he could use the steering wheel. Rody snaked a hand around Vincent's waist. Vincent let him. It felt nice to have him pressed against him as he pulled out of the lot.
Rody was still pressed against him as they entered the apartment. Their apartment now. Vincent flicked on the light switch taking a notice of the time. Seeing there was still just enough for what he had in store. Vincent walked into the kitchen flicking on the lights and walking over to the pantry grabbing the ingredients he would need from there. "Didn't we just have dinner?" Rody asked as he leaned against the counter. "Did you forget?" Vincent said as he brought the ingredients over to the counter. Rody tilted his head. "After dinner usually comes dessert." Vincent said as he walked to the fridge. "You bought a desert?!" Rody exclaimed. Vincent shook his head. "No. We're going to make one." Vincent replied as he shut the fridge with his hip. "Wait we?" Rody asked as he pointed his finger at Vincent and back at him. "I know you aren't the best cook, but that doesn't mean you can't learn." Vincent replied as he grabbed a cutting board and knife. Rody had a nervous glint in his eyes. Though he masked it with determination. "Alright, what do you need me to do?" Rody asked as he walked over. "You can start by cutting the strawberries." Vincent replied as he placed the cutting board by the strawberries. Rody walked over. "How do you want them cut?" Rody asked. "Into fourths if they are small, and sixths if they are large." Vincent replied as he began to pull out a measuring cup, alongside several tablespoons, and teaspoons. Walking over he began to pour to measure the ingredients pouring the solids in first to the bowl. Before placing the mixer down and flicking it on. Holding it down as it stirred the ingredients up. When it looked well mixed before turning back to Rody. Half of the bin was gone. Vincent brought the cup over. Rody moved the board up and poured them into the measuring cup. Using the knife to scrape any scraps that remained. "I think this should be enough." Vincent said as he lifted the nozzle and poured them in. He placed the cup back down and poured about a cup and half of whole milk before pouring it in. Once again he placed the nozzle down and once again turned it on for it to mix. Let it mix until it looks well mixed but also a little fluffy. Vincent lifted the nozzle before picking it up. The bowl was cold in his hands and walked over to the freezer placing it in there. "It should be done by tomorrow." Vincent said as Rody smiled. His eyes glanced up at the clock. "Right on time to." Rody said as he left the room. Vincent sighed with a smile as Rody emerged with his guitar in its case. Vincent walked to him before Rody gave him a peck on the cheek before the two left his apartment.
