Customers crowded the dining room as Rody zipped from table to table. Taking orders, placing tickets into the slots, and bringing orders to customers. Thankfully he hadn't had any dramatic customers who complained about the menu, but several began to lose their patience with him. It probably didn't help that he got weird stares for the somewhat visible hickeys on his neck. Though nobody made any comment about it. Finally after the rush began to die down Rody got a break. He glided into the kitchen on his roller skates. Managing to knab them out of a gut instinct. Something that did save his ass when it comes to speed. Looking around he could see Vincent standing in his usual corner. Rody glided over to him. He could feel sweat dripping down his body. "Hey Vince." Rody said as he leaned against the wall. Though it came out through huffy breaths. "You look exhausted." Vincent said as he dropped a cigarette he was smoking and stomped on it to put it out. "If you want you can come with me into my office. Besides, we need to have a work-related talk about the roller skates." Vincent said before he bent down and picked up his cigarette. Rody looked over and smiled. He did have some time for a break. Spending his break with Vincent sounded like heaven. Even if he was probably going to complain about the skates. Rody smiled as he began to glide over to the office door. Vincent followed behind him as Rody opened the door and let Vincent walk in before walking in behind him and shutting the door behind him. He sat down on a chair in front of the desk. While Vincent sat down in the chair behind the desk. Rody slumped into the chair. "Thanks for giving my feet a break." Rody said as he leaned his head back. "Yes, but we also have to talk about the roller skates." Vincent said. Rody didn't lift himself from where he was. "I told you Richard is fine with them." Rody said as Vincent sighed. "I talked to him about that. He would prefer you not, but also why?" Vincent asked, clearly mildly annoyed by it. Rody knew Richard didn't approve of the skates, but he couldn't really confiscate them. Especially since Rody could A take the skates home, or B hide them in the spot he found that he knew Richard, nor anyone else would find them. "They help me move around faster, and besides I paid good money for them." Rody said as he heard Vincent sighed. "Seriously you're going to injure yourself from those." Vincent said. Rody could hear him move off the chair and over to him. "You've already seen me injure myself, I'll be fine." Rody replied as he opened his eyes and moved his head up to meet Vincent. "Yes, and then you would be unable to work for another week. Besides, you have a concert coming up." Vincent said as he leaned over him. A serious but soft look on his face. "I'll be fine." Rody said before pressing a quick kiss to Vincent's lips. Though as he tried to pull away Vincent grabbed the back of his head and pulled him back in. Kissing him rather passionately. Rody managed to pull back. "Vince, we shouldn't really be doing this at work." Rody whispered. "And? Who's going to walk in?" Vincent whispered back as reassurance but did not continue. Waiting seemingly for Rody to decide if he wants to continue. Rody looked back at the door. Knowing how everyone reacts to Vincent when he walks into a room could cause everyone to walk around on eggshells around him. They wouldn't not step in without fearing for their life. Rody turned back and kissed him again. Though not as passionately. Vincent followed in suit as Rody wrapped his arms around Vincent's neck. Vincent's grasp wasn't rough. His kiss felt loving. Then a sound neither of them wanted to hear rang through the room. Three knocks followed by the door opening. "Hey Vince can..." Lauren paused midway as Vincent and Rody had parted lips, but their position said everything. Vincent growled as Rody could feel the grip on his scalp tighten. "LAUREN!" Vincent shouted. "I'll be taking my break!" Lauren said quickly as she shut the door behind her. The two of them should've predicted it considering she is the only other person who isn't afraid of Vincent. Rody began to silently panic. This could get him and Vincent fired. Not only that but possibly even worse could come. He could hear Vincent groan as his grip loosened on his scalp. "I'll talk to her if you want to get back to work." Rody could only nod as Vincent helped him up. Though Rody was shaking badly. He could tell Vincent was about to ask if he just wanted to stay in the office based on his face. "I'll be fine." Rody said as Vincent nodded. "If it starts to happen again, come back here as soon as you can. One of the chefs will inform me you're in here, or I'll notice when I don't see you on the floor." Rody nodded as they left the office. Rody immediately went back to work. Just pretending that Lauren had not walked in on them.
Vincent's eyes scoured the kitchen looking for Lauren. One chef seemed to notice and pointed to the alley door. Vincent stormed out. Though he paused midway outside when he saw Lauren talking to Dolly. It didn't take long for the two women to notice him. "Dot, I did not know you were here." Vincent replied with his usual fake customer service smile. "Lauren, why don't you go back inside." Vincent said through gritted teeth. Lauren gulped and nodded. "Also I don't plan on..." "Go." Vincent said as Lauren quickly returned to the restaurant. Vincent turned back to Dolly. "What are you doing here?" Vincent asked. "I was actually coming to check on Rody since when we called his phone someone else picked up." Dolly explained as Vincent realized Rody had not informed them of the number change. "Right, I guess he forgot to inform y'all of his residence change." Dolly nodded though Vincent could see suspicion laced her face. "Pardon if this sounds a bit out of the ordinary, but are you gay?" Vincent froze solid. Before giving a way to suspicious, but hopefully hidden laughter. "What makes you..." "Vincent, it's a little obvious you and Rody are dating. That waitress told me she caught y'all kissing." Dolly said as Vincent crossed his arms. His aggression was not being hidden well. "I can explain..." Vincent said, as much as he kept a tough exterior he was filled with genuine fear. "Vincent, I don't have a problem with it. I'm not going to tell anyone either." Vincent doesn't know why relief washed over him like a tidal wave just then, but he was thankful that it did as he loosened up a bit. "Don't tell Rody you know. He's going to freak out about it, and already is." Vincent said as Dolly nodded. "So is he living with you now?" Vincent nodded. As Dolly smiled. "Alright I'll just give everyone your number. You might want to tell Rody to start answering the phone if y'all want to seem less suspicious." Vincent chuckled as Dolly smiled. "Will do. Do you want to go inside?" Dolly shook her head. "It's alright, I just had lunch with Andy. Goodbye Vincent" Dolly said before she was off. "Goodbye Dot." Vincent replied as he pulled out his cigarettes. He would need to get a new box soon. He took a smoke break before returning to the thankfully peaceful restaurant. The only proof of what had transpired was him, Rody, and Lauren. He would have to have a talk with her after work. Even though he had his doubts she would tell he would rather act as soon as he could. Rather than regret it later.
