Almost an hour had passed before Rody began to stir. Vincent looked back up at him as he began to open his eyes. "Rody." Vincent whispered as he stood up. "Vince?" Rody groaned as he brought a hand up and rubbed his eyes. Vincent sighed as Rody sat up. Moving his other hand away from his. "Where...? The hospital?" Rody asked as he looked around. "You passed out." Vincent explained as Rody furrowed brow. "I got a call from Richard explaining what happened." Vincent said as Rody looked down at his lap. "Hey it's okay. You don't have to feel bad." Vincent said as Rody gave him a small smile. "Can you explain what happened?" Vincent asked. Rody opened his mouth, but was interrupted by the door opening. The doctor Vincent had seen previously walked in. "Oh good you're up." She said as she walked up to Rody. "My name is Doctor.Johnson." The doctor introduced herself. "You passed out from what seemed to be a heart attack. Though from what we gathered we could find no such evidence." Rody's hand gripped at the sheet. Rody wanted to reach out and grab it. Yet with a doctor in the room it would not be wise. "If you don't mind, I would like to ask some questions about your medical history. Doctor Johnson turned her attention to Vincent. "We do have to ask that you leave the room sir." She said, Rody looked back at Vincent. He looked back at Rody. "You'll be fine." He said as Rody gave a nervous nod. Vincent gave him a smile as he began to leave the room. As he walked out he noticed a police officer sitting on one of the chairs outside. Vincent sat a chair away. He knew the police had been called, yet he didn't expect it to be this bad. The officer seemed to take notice. "Here for a visit?" The officer asked. He was a brunette with his hair shaved close to his head. If Vincent didn't know any better he would think he was ex military. It would explain the man's older appearance. "Yes." Vincent replied almost coldly. "Are you good friends?" The obvious question. "No, he's my boyfriend." Vincent partly wanted to say just to see the officer's reaction. Yet in a situation like this it would not be wise. "Yes." Vincent once again replied. Now looking at the officer. He knew what this was. The officer didn't have to say it. Though Vincent did not mind. The sooner he could bring Rody back to the safety of his own apartment the better. "How long have you been friends?" The officer asked. "Several weeks." Vincent replied. The officer nodded. "Not many people can say they're close friends within a few weeks." The officer replied as he crossed his arms. Vincent shrugged. "Rody's a very persistent person outside of just being friendly." Vincent replied unconsciously, digging his hand in his pocket. Only to remember he did not have his cigarettes. He pulled his hand back out and just left them to rest on the chair. "Really now? Did he keep talking to you on his break?" The officer joked. Vincent couldn't help but give a chuckle. "You're not far off. He usually doesn't get time for a break. Yet he can somehow find a way to strike up a conversation even when he should be working." Vincent replied. The officer raised a brow. "Sounds like a crappy employee for slacking off." The officer commented. Vincent felt a small bit of anger. "He isn't. He's actually a decent employee. He may be easily distracted, but I wouldn't let him get off track." Vincent replied with the usual fake customer service happiness. The officer seemed to notice that he had struck a nerve. "Do you know anything about his relationship with his parents?" The officer asked. Vincent's face fell. Rage began to fuel him knowing exactly where this was going. "His parents are terrible people. I had to go over there and help him sneak out of his apartment last night." The officer raised a brow in surprise. "What do you mean?" Vincent looked over at him. "His parents followed him home the other evening. He did not feel safe at his own apartment, and even then he ended up taking the fire escape to leave. I don't think I've ever seen him more worked up. Especially after two different customers had thrown their food at him." Vincent explained as he slapped his thigh before sulking back into the chair. The officer seemed stunned. Vincent couldn't blame him. He barely ever got this angry over something that didn't have to involve him. Then again it did. Especially since he was dating Rody. "I see." The officer said. "Have you ever met his parents before?" Vincent shook his head. The door in front opened. She immediately looked at the officer. "He is ready to speak to you." She said before turning back to Vincent. "Officer White was sent to ask Rody a few questions when he woke up. After that you should be good to stay with him for a while. He seems relatively stable but we may monitor him for a few more hours before deciding to release him." Vincent nodded before the doctor walked off. He managed to keep a well balanced appearance. In all honesty he wanted to let out a giant sigh of relief that Rody had managed to stay under the radar. Now all Vincent could do was hope Rody would continue to fly under the radar with the police officer.

After several minutes the police officer came out. He gave Vincent a smile as he left. Vincent stood up and calmly walked into the room. Vincent almost froze. Rody stared at the blankets in a state of shock. Vincent approached cautiously. Fearful of provoking Rody into another frenzy. His heart monitor showed slight irregular beeping, but nothing out of the ordinary after what could very much be a stressful encounter with a police officer. Vincent slowly moved his hand over Rody's. Rody snapped up at him. "Is everything alright?" Vincent asked as he grabbed a nearby chair and sat down. Tears began to form on Rody's face as a small smile began to appear. Vincent was left dumbfounded. Rody seemed upset, and yet happy? Or were his tears happy tears? "Rody?" "They're gone." Rody said. Vincent furrowed a brow. "They won't bother me ever again." Rody said as he began to physically relax. "What do you mean?" Vincent asked as Rody grabbed his hand. "They arrested them." Rody said with a smile growing bigger on his face. Vincent could feel the joy radiating off of him. It made him smile. He couldn't hold back. He quickly pressed a kiss to Rody's lips. Pulling back after a few seconds. Rody blinked a few times before giving him another smile as he gripped his hand. Both were about ready for all this to be over with. All it would take would be a few more hours and then they could finally rest.
