Mrs. Williams went over the syllabus during the whole class period. No one dared to speak at all. She made it extremely clear of the way she wanted her class to be ran and no one seemed to challenge her.
The bell rang dismissing the students. Everyone grabbed their bags and left in a hurry. When we were out of the class room, Iris turns to me and rolls her eyes.
"She's such a bitch. I wasn't even that loud. Was I?" she asked.
"You were a little loud Iris. Now we have detention after school." I sighed as we continued walking to our next class. I had American Government while she had Calculus.
"I'm going to see if I can get out of it. I have a doctor's appointment today." She shrugged.
"What? Since when." I asked. We usually always told each other things like that so I would have remembered.
"Since right now." She smirked. "Don't worry Bells, I'll see if my dad can get you out of it too."
Iris's dad was a doctor and her mom was a nurse. Kind of a cute combination. Iris might be able to get her out of it if her dad calls the school. Her parents are also a part of the school board.
"I'll see you after class for lunch." I said walking away towards my class.
Next was American Government. I knew that this class would probably be so boring considering I didn't have either Iris or Nate in my class.
I take a seat towards the front that way it helped me make sure that I'd pay attention. Like I said before, I always have been a straight A student. I don't intend on changing that this year. College applications are soon so I really need to make sure everything checks out.
I've been thinking about my decision of if I should tutor or not. The more I think about it, the more I realize I probably should so I could also put that on my college applications.
During my lunch period, I'll go to the office to tell them that I will. They said I would be tutoring kids depending on what class I get to be a teacher's assistant for.
The class seemed to move so slowly. Mr. Howe explained the syllabus and what kinds of things we should expect this semester. Everyone seemed to be in their own little world as he went on about the class.
He explained we had a partnered assignment and that we would need to find someone to work with. The whole class stood up and started to pair up. I didn't really talk to anyone in this class.
I hated group assignments.
He said it was going to be worth a good chunk of our grade. I didn't need someone who would mess it up for me.
I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and find a girl I've seen a couple of times before.
"Hey! I was wondering if you had anyone to work with?" she smiled softly. "I'm Elena." She was a bit taller than me with dark curly hair.
"I actually don't have anyone to work with." I smiled back.
"Great. Do you want to be my partner?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm down."
"Can I have your number? We can discuss when to meet up and work on the project." She said handing me her phone. The bell rang and everyone started leaving the class.
"Sure!" I responded grabbing her phone and typing in my phone number. "Wait, I'm Isabella. I forgot to say my name." I laughed handing her phone back.
"Oh, I know." She giggled. She knew me? "Anyways, I look forward to working together. I'll text you later." She smiles and walks out of the classroom.
