chapter forty

I opened my eyes slowly, adjusting to the light in the room. I was laying on my side while I felt a warm pair of arms wrap around my waist.

Diana was lying close behind me, radiating her warmth to me.

I slowly turned around and she was already awake smiling.

"Good morning." I smiled nervously. After all this time she still has the power to make me feel shy and nervous.

"Good morning, darling." She smiles and kisses the top of my head.

"How did you sleep?" I asked her softly, stretching and trying to wake myself up more.

"Good, did you know you snore a bit?" She smirked.

I quickly sat up and looked at her.

"No I don't. Diana. I don't right?" I asked worriedly. 

"I'm just messing with you." She laughed and pulled me closer to her.

I laid against her chest and enjoyed this moment we had together. Luckily, it was Saturday. We could just relax all weekend together and we didn't have to worry about anything. I just wanted to spend as much time together as possible.

"I missed you so much." I said out loud. I wanted her to know.

"I did too, love. So so much." Diana kissed the top of my head and ran her fingers through my hair.

"Oh fuck." Diana says reaching over and grabbing her phone off the nightstand.

"What's wrong?"

"Today's my fathers dinner party. I almost forgot. Sonia should be here soon." She says getting out of bed, still completely naked from last nights activities.

I shamelessly stared at her, taking in her perfect body.

"Darling, would you'd like to come along? I really hope you can but if you have other commitments I understand. Everyone has been asking for you." Diana crawls into bed, getting on top of me and attacks me with kisses. "Please. Please. Please."

"Of course I'll go" I smiled and she began tickling my sides. "Okay stop!" I laughed and pushed her off.

"I don't have any extra clothes though." I remembered.

Diana gets off the bed, dragging me along with her towards her closet. She opened a drawer filled with some of my clothes that I remember leaving behind sometimes.

"You have all of this and whatever else you may want to take from my closet darling. I'll pack us a bag. We will only be gone for a day." She places a chaste kiss on my shoulder.

"I'll make us a quick breakfast while you get ready. How does that sound?" She whispered in my ear as she stood behind me.

"Sounds perfect."

I help Diana a bag to the trunk of the car. We had a long trip ahead of us and I was looking forward to it.

In all of the time that Diana and I have been together for, I hadn't met her best friend once. Of course she would talk about her or mention her but they hardly saw each other.

I always wanted to ask what the reason was for but I never got around to it.

I texted my parents earlier about spending the day with Iris and having a sleepover. I told them I'd return back tomorrow and all I got back was an "Ok."

I shrugged it off and just felt somewhat glad that I at least was going to be able to spend time with Diana. I wanted to make up time we lost being apart of almost a month.
