Iris left after breakfast. She insisted she had to go because her parents were going to be mad at her. She also said she had things to do. I spent the rest of the day finishing my homework before having to go to work.
I was currently sitting at my usual table reading. Sunday's were our slowest days. Today, Joe didn't come in. He had someone else fill in for him.
I loved my Sunday evening shifts because it gave me time to read my book while also getting paid. There was nothing better than that. Of course there were the occasional customers but it wasn't busy at all.
My head was still killing me. I woke up with a massive hangover. The pain has gradually gone away but I could still feel it.
This was the reminder I needed to not drink so much when I knew I couldn't handle it. I won't lie, I had a fun night last night, but I didn't need to drink so much.
"Hello Miss Gray." I hear that alluring British accent. I look up and met with Mrs. Williams' dark gray eyes. I was completely mesmerized by them.
"Good evening Mrs. Williams. What can I get for you?" I asked setting my book down and walking towards the counter.
"Could I just get a black coffee?" She asked looking in my eyes. "To go please." She says with her usual cold tone.
"Of course. Will that be all?" I asked.
"Yes, thank you."
I rung her up and began making her coffee. I still found it very odd that she drank black coffee and came here to get it.
I mean she could do as she pleases but if I liked plain black coffee I'd probably just make it at home. It definitely be a lot cheaper. The coffee here is good but I don't think it's that good.
I made her coffee and also placed a chocolate chip cookie into a small bag for her. I headed back to the register and handed her the bag and cup. She looked at the bag with a confused look.
"It's a cookie. On me." I smiled.
"Thank you Miss Gray. That's very kind of you." She says taking the bag and the coffee. "I see you go through books quickly. I could have sworn you were just reading a different one." She says pointing to the book with her head.
"I guess I read a lot." I giggled. I need to stop giggling what actual the fuck is wrong with me.
"I see. Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good night Miss Gray." She nods.
"See you tomorrow. Good night." I waved as she walked out of the cafe. I watched from the window as she got into her fancy black car and drove away.
"Woah is that your teacher?" Anthony, my co-worker, asked. Where did he even come from?
"Yeah. She's my English teacher."
"She's hot."
I know. That's what I wanted to say.
"Don't be weird." Is what I ended up responding with.
I walked back to my usual table and picked up my book. I continued reading until my shift was over.

The week was moving by so slowly. Everyday was the continuous cycle that I cannot seem to break. I wake up, go to school, hang out with Iris and Nate during lunch, have my TA period with Mrs. Williams, then go home.
