The past week had been amazing. After that Saturday with Diana, the entire week had passed so smoothly. We spent our TA sessions grading work together and just talking. We hadn't had the time to meet outside of school. It seemed that the weekends could be our only time to see each other without risking anything.

It seemed after everything that happened Saturday, Diana and I grew even closer than before. We hadn't gotten around to doing anything else but that was completely fine by me.

We made sure to maintain a professional relationship anywhere at school and even when she would show up to my job. We didn't need anyone to suspect us of being together.

It was Friday night and Nate has his very first football game. Iris, Elena, and I were sitting in the stands. Iris and Elena had began to spend a lot more time together, just as friends though.

Iris had told me that the day after our talk in Nate's car, she reached out to Elena hoping to talk. Elena had explained to her how she felt abandoned by Iris. For a long time after Iris had stopped talking to her, she felt confused on why she had done that to her.

Iris apologized and told her why she did what she did. Of course it didn't make it acceptable, but she still wanted to explain why she did it.

They started to hang around a lot more at school and she even joined us during lunch some days. I was happy that Iris seemed a lot happier than usual.

There were still days where Iris would ask me how things were going with the mystery girl. I just would keep the conversation short to avoid any further questions.

The game was barely about to start when we see all of the football players rush onto the field. We both had Nate's jersey on. He has kept the same number since Freshman year so he managed to get us both shirts for his games.

He really loved when we would come to support him because his family couldn't always make it. He knew he could count on us and that we'd always be there.

I noticed Diana sitting at the bleachers on the other side of the field. She'd occasionally glance over in my direction and leave a small smile before looking away. Apparently, she had told me a lot of teachers wanted to attend the first big game of the season.

"Ugh I hope Nate wins." Iris says tugging onto my arm.

"Geez dude relax. I'm sure they will win. Nate was saying the team was actually really good this year." I shrugged.

Some of the students from the other school were also here cheering their team on. The bleachers were filled with students. You can hear the clamoring amongst the crowd, excited for the game to begin.

Once it started, it was going really well. After a couple of minutes, Nate had made an amazing throw that led them to get a touchdown. The whole school went wild knowing that our team was now in the lead.

A while into the game, a group of girls who I assume to be from the other school sat next to us. Iris couldn't hold back the annoyed look on her face even though I told her to stop. One of the girls sat next to me and tapped my shoulder.

"Hey I'm Jessica." She smiled.

"Hi. I'm Isabella." I said politely but wanting to turn my attention back to the game. When I turned to look, I caught Diana staring at me from across the field.

"Is the quarterback your boyfriend?" She said slightly louder than usual over all of the noise, pointing at my jersey.

"Oh, no! He's our best friend." I pointed and both Iris and I since we had the same jersey on.
