Joseta felt like she got run over by a shuttle bus and then it reversed to run over her again. Her head pounded like a painful drum for her upcoming funeral. So much pain. She tried to open her eyes, but the light was blinding. She squeezed her eyes shut to block out the light.
What happened? She wondered, covering her eyes with her hands to take a deep breath. Her breath echoed through her brain like a bullet, killing every nerve. She must have hit her head, whatever happened.
"You're awake," a voice stated, sending pain through Joseta's brain.
She groaned, not sure which clone was talking. "You're watching me sleep."
"Touche," the clone chuckled, his deeper voice reverberating.
Joseta rose a brow in shock. "Hunter?" What is he doing here?
"How'd you know?"
Joseta snuggled her head back into the pillow, the side of her head splintering in pain. "Your laugh is different from the other clones."
"Interesting."
"Why are you here?" Joseta asked, watching as colors splashed against the black backs of her eyelids. "I thought I was on..." Joseta shot up, squinting her eyes open. "Geonosis. The bugs."
Hunter was a dark silhouette in the midst of a brightly lit room, standing out easily. "You're on Coruscant now."
Joseta furrowed her brows, holding her bandaged head. "Where is Rex?" she muttered out, clearing her throat. "Did everyone make it out okay?"
"Last time I checked, Rex is fine," Hunter said, voice containing a hint of something Joseta couldn't place. And it hurt too much to look in his direction.
Joseta slid from the bed, using her hand to cover her eyes. "I need to go to the med bay and see if the medics need help—"
"No," Hunter said, placing a hand on her to guide her back to the bed she had been laying on. "You need to stay in the med bay and see if the medics could help you."
Joseta frowned, her fingers grazing the cold table she laid on. "Wait, why are you here?"
Hunter removed his hand from her arm, her skin tingling where his fingers had been. "Kallo, the 501st, and my brothers were taking turns watching you 'sleep.'"
"Oh?" Joseta asked, excitement about her brother surging within her. "How is Kallo?"
"I'm good, and you?" an all-too-familiar voice asked from the doorway.
Joseta's eyes shot open once more. "Kall!" She made her way over to embrace the man regardless of the pain it inflicted. "I didn't realize how much I would miss you."
