Joseta lounged in Rex's office, her legs curled up into the chair as she read some sort of novel that she had at one point told him, but he had lost track. She had gone through so many since knowing her, he probably knew the names of more books than clones on the Resolute.

Rex averted his eyes, going over the last of his paperwork before filing it away. He leaned back in his chair with a sigh, running his hands over his face. When he followed Joseta's plan for work, he found himself with a lot more time to relax. It meant better frames of mind for him, but he also got bored. Not that it was bad being bored, but he wasn't used to it.

He looked over at Joseta again, this time her gaze was already on him. "What?" he asked, leaning on the desk.

She swung her long limbs off of the chair, setting her book aside. "I was wondering what you were sighing about."

Rex blinked, shrugging. "The fact that I am done with work."

A grin made its way to her face. "So, my modifications have been working."

"Yes," Rex said, wanting to hide as his face heated up. "You were right."

"Doesn't surprise me," she said through a laugh, standing up to stretch. She set the book on his desk, crossing her arms as she peered down at him. "What's the plan, my man?"

"Your man?" Rex asked, brow raising.

It was Joseta's turn to flush. "It's a figure of speech—"

They were interrupted by her commlink ringing. She pulled it out, opening the call to reveal Hunter, the sergeant of Clone Force 99. "Hey," the man's husky voice came from the other end.

"Hey," Joseta said, looking up to meet Rex's eyes before clearing her throat. "So...what's up?"

"I was told by Rylann to help you on your retrieval mission for Phee's box?"

"Oh yeah," Joseta said, deflating. "Is it time for that already?"

"Yes," Hunter said. "I'll be there tomorrow with Tech and Wrecker."

Joseta furrowed her brows as she pursed her lips. "Oh, are Joybald and Rylann not coming?"

"They are busy setting up base here," Hunter said, scratching his neck. "Well, see you then."

"Yeah, see you," Joseta said, hanging up. She looked up at Rex, not saying a word.

He had so many he wanted to say, but none that could express how he felt. He didn't want her to go. Selfish as his reasons were, he didn't care at the moment. Things were just starting to open back up between them, maybe even growing into something more, but to cut it off now would be scary. Would it harm their relationship? Make it worse than the last time she left?

"At least you have armor now," Rex said, but mentally kicked himself. Was that the best he could say?

Joseta chuckled. "It seems pretty Death Watch-y, so I don't know if it will help me at all," she said, wiping invisible dust from the arm of her leather jacket. "The Batch might start shooting me down."
