Rylann sipped her caf, reading some of Zeta's files at the desk in Crosshair's old room on Reannor city. She liked staying here instead of on Tipoca City. Everything was crammed to fit a million clones there. Too tight for her liking. But she liked it here. She could see glimpses of her husband in his youth from how the room was decorated.
There were a lot of pinned up papers of targets that he decimated. He had written out his name in aurebesh with bullet holes. He also had some punk band and classic rock band from fifty years ago. He really was a grandpa.
"Morning," a muffled voice called from the bed. Crosshair sat up, running his hands through his silver hair, sticking it up at awkward angles. He looked rugged when he woke up.
"Morning, love," she said, setting her mug down after closing her file. "Do you want some caf?"
"Mhm," came his reply, muffled as he turned over to bury his face in his pillow.
Rylann chuckled, standing up to go to his dresser where he had a caf station standing beside it. He bragged that it was his pride and joy. It was many years of work to create the diverse caf set up. "How do you want it?"
"Just black today."
She could hear him rustling around to get ready while she faced the wall to make his mug of caf. He liked it black when he needed a shot of energy. Not a cup of comfort.
When she finished pouring, his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to him. She set down the cup, holding his hands to her body, leaning back into him.
The past month being married to him had been nice. It had been weird, knowing that she was now legally attached to him, and living with him had already been hard. He was very clean—she ... was not.
"How'd you sleep?" Rylann asked.
"Good," Crosshair mumbled into her ear.
She turned around in his arms, placing her hands on his chest. "I have your caf—"
He lowered his lips to meet hers, drawing her closer. She chuckled into the kiss, hands sliding up around his neck to bring him down to her level. "Mesh'la," he whispered, pulling away to wipe a stray hair from her face. "Why would I need coffee to wake up whenever you are there to brighten my day."
Heat rushed across Rylann's face as she buried her head into her chest. "You're in a good mood."
"It will almost be our month anniversary." He kissed the top of her head.
She scrunched her nose. "You don't seem to be the type to remember stuff like that."
He stepped back, winking down at her. "How could I forget when I get to celebrate one month with you?"
He grabbed the caf from the counter of his caf station, trudging over to the desk, looking over what files she had out.
"Just researching," she said, making her way to his side, rubbing his back. He was tense.
