This chapter has a lot of different songs. Most are repeats from earlier chapters, but the last one is a new one that I've been holding onto for that specific scene for a while. Enjoy!

Rex lowered the lift into the brig. Fives and Jesse stood still beside him. His mind raced at the cruelness of Krell and at how the Umbarans were always one step ahead of them. Every time they felt one step closer to victory, something else came up. It was beginning to wear on Rex. But he wouldn't show it. He had to be strong for his troops. Be the barrier between Krell and them.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Fives whispered as the lift stopped in front of their cell.
Rex glanced through the ray shield to where Joseta was sitting, leaning against the wall. She was playing with the ring on her finger. For a second, he felt only hope, but it quickly crashed. What a mess they had both gotten into. If he had only stood up to Krell sooner—
"Fives! Jesse!" she exclaimed, rushing to her feet. The ray shields were opened and as soon as they stepped in, she engulfed the two "executed" soldiers. She punched Fives in the arm. "Can you have one mission without a near death experience?"
"This one had two," Fives muttered, rubbing his arm.
Joseta patted Jesse on the back. "I'm glad you guys are okay." She looked past them at Rex, nodding to him.
He gulped. He wanted to embrace her then and there, kiss her and tell her that everything would be alright. But his other brothers were watching behind him. He didn't know how close they were to Krell and if information about Joseta and his relationship got up to him—there would be pain.
"Umbarans stole armor from another platoon," he managed to say. "A 212th."
She nodded, throat bobbing. "Do you know if it is my brother's squadron? The Wranglers?"
Rex shook his head. "I wish I could." He cleared his throat. "I must be going."
She looked disappointed, but nodded. She should understand at least. And the lift flew up to the ground level. Rex gulped back tears, staring forward. He wouldn't let Krell hurt her.
