Yamna

Where did Rohaan go?

I felt worried. He had been on the phone with someone, and then he had left in a hurry, telling me that he'd be right back. Maybe Tayan or Anabia Mama called him?

If it was back home, I would assume that he had been called to work, but here, in Lahore, where would he go? Maghrib was approaching and I was getting seriously worried. I took my key card and left the room, walking towards my parents-in-law's room. Maybe they know where he is?

"Yamna!"

I turned and saw Mama coming towards me. "Yes, Mama?"

"Honey, I was about to confirm my flight for tomorrow. Are you coming with me, or do you want to stay with Rohaan?" She asked.

"Let me check with Rohaan to see how long he'll be here. I'll probably go back with him." I replied. "But, do you know where he is? Have you seen him?"

She looked confused. "Shouldn't you know more than me?"

"He might be with Tayan and Anabia Mama. Where else would he go?" I turned and hurried towards Tayan and Anabia Mama's room. I lightly knocked on the door.

Tayan opened it a few seconds later. "Yamna, everything okay?" He saw the expression on my face immediately.

"Tayan, do you guys know where Rohaan is?"

"As far as we know, he should be around here somewhere at the hotel." He frowned.

"Maybe he is. I tried WhatsApp calling him, but it's not connecting." I was feeling tensed.

"Maybe he's with Saim?" Anabia Mama came behind him. "Let me call and check." She grabbed her phone from the table and dialled her brother's number. "Saim, is Rohaan with you? No? No, don't worry. We're just trying to reach him. You rest." She ended the call, shaking her head. "Rehan, I have a bad feeling. Do you think this is related to Hashir? I didn't think that he would let go of this so easily."

"I really hope that he isn't that stupid." Tayan held out his hand. "Your phone please, Anya."  When she handed it over to him, he dialled Rohaan's number. "It's not connecting."

My heart pounded hard with fear. "He's going to get hurt."

"I'm going to have a look downstairs. Maybe he's in the courtyard or café." Tayan strode past us and headed down the hall.

I followed him. "He wouldn't go after Hashir Mamu, would he? He's in police custody anyway."

"No, he isn't." Tayan said, grimly. "Apparently, there's insufficient evidence..."

"He admitted it in front of all of us!" I cried in protest.

"In my opinion, the people he sold the house to, are helping him out to protect themselves."

"Tayan, Rohaan won't stop until Hashir Mamu pays for what he did."

"That's what concerns me."

We headed down in the glass lift, and my eyes scanned the floor below, hoping to catch a sight of Rohaan. But there was nothing. Rohaan, where are you?
