Mama decided that it was time to take me shopping for the first of Chipmunk's things.

"Mama, there's still time!" I protested.

"There's still time, but you need to make this effort while you still can. Do you really want to go shopping for everything in your third trimester?" Mama took me into a department store, heading straight for the newborn baby section. "You need plenty of bodysuits. Babies use bodysuits like a person with a severe cold uses tissues." She smiled. "You had all these adorable pink body suits, in different styles and patterns. I got you some, Bhabi got you some, Mum got you some, and even Haya and Hoor."

"So, that's where my love of pink comes from?"

"It seems so." Mama nodded. "We all forced you into it."

I was looking at adorable little shirts.

Daddy's Girl.

Daddy's Little Sweetheart.

Me + Mummy = One broke Daddy.

*This last one was legit written on my brother's baby daughter's shirt. 😂

I smiled to myself. "I wish we have a daughter." I turned to Mama. "I cannot even begin to imagine how overprotective Rohaan would be of her."

"You know, one of my favourite moments ever was when Yasin first held you." She spoke nostalgically.

I imagined Rohaan holding Chipmunk, a tiny little life in his strong arms. I could easily believe that it was also going to be one of my favourite moments when he first takes our Chipmunk in his arms.

My mother was seriously buying everything and anything that she could, excitedly talking about the baby. "God, I'm going to pamper my little star so much, In Sha Allah! Anabia Bhabi and I were discussing how we'll take the baby on walks around the Tariq family home area, in his or her pushchair. It's closer to the countryside so the fresh air would be good for the baby."
