Rohaan

"This is how you fix a car seat." Farhaan Bhai showed me, straightening up.

"Thanks, Bhai." I grinned gratefully at my elder brother-in-law. "Yamna and Rabiya will be discharged soon, and I wanted to know how to fix a damn car seat because we'll have to take Rabiya home in it."

"The car seat is just the first step. Prepare to learn many, many more duties." Aariz Bhai added. "I'd suggest nappy changing first."

Farhaan Bhai winced. "I still remember my first nappy changing disaster. Hoor never lets me forget it."

"Yep, when I did it, Haya asked me why I was acting like a surgeon about to perform surgery, the way I placed Arham on the nappy changing table." Aariz Bhai said. "Once, during nappy changing, I lifted up his legs gently, just doing an off-duty check up. Unfortunately, I did it with his nappy open and he peed straight in my face."

I burst out laughing. Secretly, I was glad that I had quite a few experienced fathers to guide me. "Honestly, it would have made me laugh more if he had done that to Haya."

"Haya has been sprayed endlessly too." Aariz Bhai grinned.

"The perks of being a boy-parent." Farhaan Bhai added.

My phone buzzed and I pulled it out of my pocket. "Yes, Boss Woman?"

"Where are you? Yamna and Rabiya are cleared to go." Mama asked in a demanding tone.

"I'm just in the car parking, Mama. I'm coming." I felt excited at the idea of Rabiya coming home. I couldn't wait to see Dado and Dada Jaan's reaction, but I was particularly looking forward to seeing my Detective Maham meeting her. I ended the call and looked at my brothers-in-law. "Well, it's time. For the first time, I'd be driving a car with Rabiya in the car seat."
