Yamna
"Let me make it for you, Tayan." I offered.
I'd walked into the kitchen to see him making coffee.
"It's okay, sweetheart. It's just coffee." He gave me a smile.
"Still. Let me make it for you, please." I insisted.
He glanced at me and stepped back. "Go ahead."
Beaming at him, I took over the coffee making from him, just as Rohaan walked into the kitchen. I glanced at Tayan. "Tayan, I need to make a complaint officially. "
Rohaan looked amused.
Tayan glanced at his son, knowingly, before turning back to me. "What did he do now, Yamna?"
"He promised me that he's off today. He was going to go and pick up his laptop, but now he's saying that he'll do overtime today!" I pouted slightly.
"Once a chamchi, always a chamchi." Rohaan teased me.
"Rohaan, are you breaking a promise?" Tayan's own tone held a hint of amusement.
"Papa, my work is really important." Rohaan was almost smirking as he glanced in my direction.
"Why are you always teasing her, Rohaan?" Tayan frowned. Then he turned to me. "It's okay, sweetheart. Let him go to work. I'll show you some never-seen-before home video footage of him as a child."
I giggled. "That sounds great!"
"Papa, seriously?" Rohaan's tone changed to a more weary one now.
"Remember, Rohaan, if you trouble her, I will team up with her." Tayan smiled down at me. "He's not going for overtime, sweetheart, don't worry."
"Says who?" My husband asked.
"A father's instinct." Tayan replied in a knowing tone.
"Here you go, Tayan." I finished making his coffee and handed him the mug.
Tayan ran a hand over my head before walking out.
I smiled smugly at Rohaan.
He walked over to me, and as he got closer, my eyes widened.
"Rohaan, what are you doing?" I backed away.
"You think you can always have your own way?" His gaze had the intensity to melt me completely.
"Of course I can. I'm everyone's ladli." I shrugged. "But before anyone else, I'm beloved to you, so yes, Rohaan Rehan Tariq, I will have my own way."
He leaned towards me and with a squeal, I ducked under his arm and ran away.
