Chapter 10

Caroline's POV

It was extremely quiet.

Cameron finally spoke up after pretending to look at his phone.

"Uh guys this is Samantha and her friend Caroline." He said.

Ouch.

After another awkward silence Bart started to go over the rules we had to follow when playing.

After about a 20 minute drive. We all hopped off the bus and onto the windy sidewalk in front of the paint ball place.

We geared up then we had to pick teams.
I've always dreaded this part.

"Okay team captains are Cameron and Shawn." Bart yelled.

Cameron's first pick was Samantha. Then Shawn picked Taylor.
I automatically thought Cameron would pick me since he picked Samantha, but that didn't happen.

In the end the teams were:

Cameron team-
Samantha
Nash
Carter
Matthew
Jacob
Jack Johnson

Shawns team-

Taylor
Hayes
Me
Aaron
Mahogany
Jack gilinsky
Sammy wilk (he told me he goes by Daddy)

I wasn't happy about Cameron not picking me, but I feel like I have a pretty solid team.

Of course though Taylor came prepared. He passed out bandannas to our team.

"We look legit" he said proud of himself.

"We look like extreme couponers on Black Friday." I said examining my paint ball gun.

Everyone on the team started to die laughing.

Let's just say Cameron's team looked extremely confused.

"Haha I like you." Shawn said still laughing.

We separated to opposite sides of the playing field.

We went over our game plan and took our places.

Shawn and I would sneak to the outside of everyone to capture their flag.

The bell rang signaling the beginning of the Magcon purge.

Me and Shawn were about 20 feet away from the flag when we got separated trying to avoid Matt.

I jumped behind a old car when I heard footsteps.

And to my left was Cameron.

We just stared at each other not sure when the other would strike.

Shawn crawled up next to me, his gun ready.

He snaked his arm around my waist, and pulled me back, gun still aimed at Cam.

Once we were out of sight. We managed to capture the flag and get Carter out.

All that was left was get the flag back.

We went back the path we came.
All of a sudden someone covered my mouth and pulled me into a very little lighted rock building.

I look up to find Cameron.
His hand still covering my mouth.
I pushed him off and aimed my gun at his toned arm.

"Woah chill." He said setting his gun down.
"I just want to talk to you." He said.

"I just want to know which one of you was singing in the ballroom."

I wasn't really sure what to say. I couldn't tell him the truth obviously.
"Umm we were just playing around, and it's not important." I said growing irritated.

It wasn't the time to discuss this.
I grabbed my gun and walked out leaving a confused Cameron Dallas.

Before stepping out I said one more thing to keep him from figuring it out.

"You know not everything is what you think it is, in the end judging a book by its cover ruins the ending."

With that I left and went back to my side.
