Caroline's POV

I could feel my heart drop.
A million things were running through the my mind.

"What?" I almost whispered not looking him in the eye.

"You have to sing at one of the shows" he said.
Shocked was the only thing I was feeling.
"Why Shawn?" I asked.

"Because you deserved to be recognized"
With that he walked out.

That's it, he just walked out of the room.
There was 16 shows in the tour.

   I had 16 opportunities to make myself known.

I spent the rest of the day in my room by myself.
I mean what the hell was I supposed to do.

The 16 shows took 3 months.
That was plenty of time.

I hope.
It was around 9pm when Shawn came back.

I had my arm propped up on a bunch of pillows I took from his bed.
He sat on his bare bed.

"Oh sorry here's your pillows" I said awkwardly trying to move my arm.

"No keep them" he said looking at the TV.
  A very uncomfortable silence fell among us. I did what I usually did in these situations I looked at my phone.

   "You know, I really don't want it to be like this between us, I just want you to get the credit you deserve." He said making me look at him.

  "I know.." I wasn't even sure if he heard me or not. He grabbed some clothes and went into the shower.

*the next day*

Caroline's POV still

Normally I would be beyond excited to sing at the show but not today.
I lay in my bed pretending to be asleep while Shawn gets ready.

He knows I'm up but he hasn't said anything which I'm thankful for.
   I sat up in bed, it wasn't as easy as I thought with with my cast on.

"What are you singing today?" He asked.
"I don't know but the lights are gonna be off"
He looked almost disappointed.

He got up and left slamming the door.
  I just slipped on a Magcon shirt and toms.
  My phone dinged while I was braiding my hair.

"Good luck today, even though we can't see you :/ ~your biggest fan

  Why? Why does this person keep texting me?

  I met up with Mahogany at the DJ booth trying to figure out a song.
I was on first today.

Brit was already sitting in the back with the boys of course.
Finally after all the fans were in we agreed on one man can change the world.

  Sam met me off to the side before the lights went out. Cheers erupted all through the room.

It was the greatest feeling ever. The track started to play and I sang my heart out.

I quickly found Sam in the dark and stood by her. They flipped the lights on and the girl in the shadows was
gone.
   Sam and I headed back stage passing Shawn along the way. He didn't say anything, but he didn't have to.

I knew he was mad at me. The Jacks, Brit, and Cameron were the only people backstage.
"Great job sam!" They said hugging her.
I made my way over to Cameron.
  Brit was awfully close to him.

"Yeah good job Sam, so what exactly do you do?" Brit said looking at me.
First of all I hope they trust her with the girl in the shadows identity.

  "I help Sam pick songs." I said moving closer to Cameron.

"Whatever" she said getting up.
"I'm going to go watch the show, bye Cammy" she said waving to him.

  As soon as she left I yelled "that's why yo eyebrows ain't on fleek!"

  Everyone was laughing so hard I almost didn't hear my phone go off.

"Nice comeback, you did great like always out there, but I have a feeling your time is soon~your biggest fan

No one back stage was on their phones. So who was it...
Taylor and Nash busted through the curtain talking to everyone.

I need to find out who the hell this is.

Wow this is the worst chapter so far.
