Chapter 29

Caroline's POV

I kind of just froze there.

  "You know that voice sounds awfully familiar" he said staring at me with accusing eyes.

I just looked down. I know he figured it out. Now I'm just waiting for him to run out a tell everyone.
"Does anyone know?" He asked.

  There was something in his voice, that I couldn't place my finger on.
Lust maybe?

"Mahogany and Sam" I said looking at him again.
  All judgment was gone. It was replaced with confusing.

"Wait then they are you letting Sam take credit?" He said frowning.
  I didn't really have an answer to that question anymore.
  We did it because Cameron liked her, but now what reason do we really have?

   "I don't know" I whispered. He walked towards the door. I knew he was going to tell everyone.

I sat down on the bed, contemplating if I should pack my things or not.
  The boys would surely be mad as hell when they found out.

But I never heard the door shut. I looked up and Shawn was handing me his guitar.
   I took it, and gave him a questioning look.
"Sing for me" he said sitting in the desk chair across from me.

  I wasn't expecting this at all. "What should I sing?" I asked.
He just shrugged leaning back.

  I strung the first chords with trembling fingers. "Why did he want me to sing?"
Probably to record me to tell the boys.

  But he never pulled out his phone. He just sat back waiting for me to sing.
  So I did.
I sang confetti my Tori Kelly.

  "I gotta keep myself in check sometimes
Because I tend to dream real big sometimes
The fancy outfits, the sparkly awards
My name in lights, people lined up at the door
But I gotta remember to take it one step at a time
Cause people seem to think
That you'll be happier once you reach the top
You'll have it all
But I'm living for right now
Cause what if tomorrow never comes
I'm not waiting, I'm not waiting for the confetti to fall..."

I poured everything I had into the song. It was the first time I've ever sang to anyone other than Sam, Mahogany and a camera.

  I looked at him waiting for an answer. He just stared. He seemed to be lost in thought.

He finally broke the heavy silence the engulfed us.

"I'll keep your secret" he said.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.
Before I could thank him he interrupted.
"On one condition......"
