Chapter 36

Caroline's POV

After about another hour I finally got the room back to normal.

The only trace of Cameron's outburst is the huge hole in the wall. I look around trying to find a way to fix it but the only thing I could see that could help is an awful painting.

I took it down and covered the hole.

  My phone buzzed from the nightstand.

Nash:
Can we talk now?

  I honestly wasn't ready. The more I think about it the more I realize "my biggest fan" helped me in a way.

I was terrified that someone knew but then again comforted in a strange way.

I text back a quick yes.
We were meeting in the gym in the hotel.

I put on my bathing suit under shorts and a taylor shirt. After we talked I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need something to take my mind off of everything.

When I got to the gym Nash was sitting on a workout bench on his phone.

"Hey" I said sitting across from him.
He looked up and smiled. His blue eyes seemed lighter than usual.

  "Have you been crying?" He asked frowning.
"Yeah me and Cameron fought again."

  He didn't say anything for a few minutes and we just sat in silence.
"Caroline I sent those text to help you"

When I didn't say anything he kept going.

"I knew letting Sam take all the credit wasn't easy for you and I wanted to let you know that I supported you."

  "So why didn't you tell anyone about me?"
He looked me dead in the eye.
"It wasn't my secret to tell"

"I have a question for you too" he said.
"What?"
What could he possibly ask?

"What made you tell everyone?"
I totally forgot no one knew Shawn knew.

"Shawn. He found out and told me if I didn't come forward he would tell everyone."

  "That sounds kind of harsh" he said.
Looking back it did sound harsh.
"He only wanted me to get credit." I said.

Again we fell into silence.
"There is also another reason I sent those texts." He said suddenly.

"There is?" I said crossing my legs on the extremely uncomfortable bench.
"Caroline I did it because I -"

He was cut off my laughter.
Why? Why does everywhere I go they seem to be there?

Brit and Cameron walk in. Holding hands.

They were both wearing swim suits. Why would they wear swimsuits to work out?
It was then I noticed that the pool was next to the gym area only separated by a glass door.
I guess I'm not swimming.

I was on the verge of tears yet again.

"Can we talk later?" I asked.
He looked upset but nodded his head.
I stood up and grabbed my phone.
"Hey caroline" Brit said.

"Go to hell" I said.
I could hear Nash laugh from behind me.
I looked back one more time and locked eyes with Cameron.
They were swollen and bloodshot just like mine.

He has obviously been crying.

I didn't really know where I was going. All I knew was I didn't want to go back to the room.

I decided to go find Shawn and thank him for earlier.
I knocked on his door but no one answered.

  Hayes was walking down the hallway.
"Hey have you seen Shawn?" I asked.
"I think he went to one of the ballrooms but I'm not sure" he said.

"Thank you!" I yelled and walked to the elevators.
Shawn must go and sing in the ballrooms like I do.

Sure enough after checking 3 ballrooms I found him.
He was playing the keys to his song "Air" but he wasn't singing.

I sat down next to him neither of us saying anything.
He started the song over and this time he sang and I joined in.

(I will put S beside Shawn's lines and a C beside Caroline's lines)

S-" never thought that we would end up, here.
Should have known it from the start.
I know you mean it when you said you loved me.
But we're trying way to hard."

C-" used to to think that we would last forever.
How could I have been so wrong.
Never thought that I would be the one to say this.
But if our time have come I'm gone."

Both-"you, you don't mean no harm.
But your stringing me along.
And I don't have the time to spare.
And I, I'm trying hard to breath but your suffocating me.
This time I'm coming up for air."

  When we finished the song we were both smiling. It felt good to just sing and not have to worry about getting enough views or likes.

"I just wanted to thank you for earlier." I said.

"Of course, Caroline if you ever need anything I'm here."

I hugged him a stood up.
  "Maybe we should sing a duet at the next show." He said when I reached the door.

"I would love that Shawn."

  When I got back to the room  I could hear Cam and Brit inside.
I really didn't want to deal with that so I sat on the floor beside the door.

I just sat there thinking about what Shawn and I should sing when I remembered Nash's talk.

I wonder what he was going to say.

Fun fact I'm older than Hayes by 9 days😎 plus have you seen him on dancing with the stars!!! OMG

Sorry for the wait guys!😳 homecoming was last week and I had to work on a float.
Plus this weekend I won't be able to update either. I'm going to an overnight engineering program at a college so I will be busy 💜💙
