Chapter 34

Caroline's POV

I almost forgot the song I was singing as I walked on stage in the dark.
Then I remember practicing in the girls bathroom with Sam and Mahogany.
  The crowd was dead silent when I grabbed the mic and began.

"I can hear your laugh
It's ringing through the hallways
I can see your smile
It's what gets me through my hard days
And your words
Were supposed to get me through my hard days
Before my heart break...

I was so into the song I almost didn't hear all of the gasps coming through the audience.
But I sure as hell saw Shawn next to the light switch.
I stopped singing but the music went on. I looked around the boys were shocked and Cameron looked pissed.

I wasn't ready to face them alone yet so I did what I never thought I could, I just sang with the lights on.

I motioned for Mahogany to bring the music back a little and I began again.

" there's an emptiness
That only few ever feel
And I somehow missed
The meaning of the love that is real..."

The song ended way to quickly, but I was relieved when the boys and Sam and Mahogany went up to hug me on stage. All except Cameron.

I didn't want to worry about him now so I took in what everyone was saying around me.
One thing that was whispered to me made my heart freeze.

"I told you I would be in the front row when you finally got your recognition." Someone whispered in my ear.

I whip my head around fast.

And I was staring into Nash's intense blue eyes.

He held a smug smirk on his lips. I was shocked beyond words.

Nash was "my biggest fan"

He stepped back and I heard someone over the speaker announce the ending of the show.

Every possible emotion was running through my head as the ballroom emptied out.

Cameron was no where to be seen.

  "Hey how you feeling?" Shawn asked sitting next to me on the stage dangling his legs over the side.

"Not as good as I should"
He seemed to know what I was talking about.

"He will come around, just give him time" he said side hugging me.

I honestly don't think he is. We sat in the ballroom for about 4 hours.

They were just asking me questions.
I still haven't talked to Nash and no one has seen Cameron either.

One of the security guards said he left in an Uber.

Sam is sitting on Taylor's lap giggling.
  Well at least he isn't mad at her.

I check my phone and still nothing from Cameron.
I was getting worried.
"I'm going to bed." I announce.
When I got to our room it was cold and empty.
I picked up some clothes Cameron dropped and set them on his bed before climbing into mine.

I'm not sure how long I just laid there. All I know is my eyes are swollen from all of the crying.

Finally I fell asleep around 2am.

I woke the next day to yet again an empty room. Where the hell did he stay?

I drug myself out of bed and slipped on my vans to go get breakfast.
Everyone was down there already.

Except for Cameron.
I made sure to scan the room at least 10 times before sitting next to Carter and Mahogany.

"Bart said he never came back last night" Mahogany whispered to me.
"I figured" I said quietly.
She gave a small smile and turned back around.

I was just picking at my oatmeal when the chair in front of me was pulled out.

It was Nash.
"Can we talk later?" He asked making sure no one else heard.

I nodded getting ready to stand up when the doors slammed behind us and laughter filled the room.

It was Cameron.

     And Brit.
