And (Y/N) was still nowhere near ready to make such a life-changing decision.

And yet here Mae was, barging into her home with exciting news to tell.

"(Y/N), you'll never believe it!" the black-haired girl exclaimed happily. "Hawk Crest un-waitlisted me!"

Of course the girl's natural response was to squeal and jump up and down with one of her dearest best friends. "Congratulations, Mae! You deserve this!"

"Thanks! Come on, let's go tell Dawn! I think she's already mad because we're three minutes late."

"Ah yeah typical Dawn...impatient and impossible."

The girls DID agree to meet up that day, and granted they were three minutes late, they HAVE heard what the blonde was like when her two best friends weren't around. So they ran to the Harpers' and through the entrance. They found Dawn with her brothers in the living room with a chessboard in front of them. She lit up almost immediately when she saw the two girls.

"Sorry we're late Dawn!" Mae exclaimed as she and (Y/N) rushed in.

"Mae's got exciting news!" (Y/N) said giddily.

"I just got accepted to Hawk Crest Academy!"

"The boarding school that waitlisted you?" Dawn gasped.

"Now they're the boarding school that UN-waitlisted me!"

All three girls shrieked, grabbed each other's arms, and jumped for joy in sync. Nicky and Ricky smiled at them.

"I'm so happy for you! When do you start, next year?"

"Next week!"

"You mean next week of next year?"

"No, next week of next week!"

And that's when both (Y/N) and Dawn stopped jumping. "What?" the singer gasped. "So soon?"

"You really start next week?" Dawn asked.

Mae stopped jumping as well, frowning at both of their reactions. "Yeah," she replied. "Somebody dropped out and I got their spot. How lucky is that?"

"So lucky!"

(Y/N) gave a tight-lipped smile. "You deserve it."

"Thanks!" Mae chirped.

"Wow, our BFF gets to get into her dream school," Dawn commented. She then turned to her brothers. "Did you hear that guys?"
