"you don't. you're not like them, don't think for a second you are.""okay, i'll quickly tell you the results." aizawa says, standing near the wall as your class gathers back into a group. "the total is simply the marks you got from each test." he lifts the device once again. "it's a waste of time to explain verbally, so i'll show you the results all at once." there's an air of anxiety amongst your classmates, and you forgot about the whole explusion thing, so you weren't sure why. aizawa presses a button the device and a holographic screen with everyone names and scores written in kanji displaying on it. "congrats, yaomomo." you say sincerely, giving her a congratulating pat on the shoulder. she beams at you, her smile quite pretty. "thank you, y/n. congrats to you, as well. you're right below me." she says, and you smile back. "thanks." both of you turn back to the screen, eyes going to the bottom of the leaderboard. "midoriya? that must be the green one, right?" you say, eyeing the green boy with the splinted finger.
wow, his name even means green. that's really unfortunate.
"don't worry, i doubt he'll be expelled. aizawa-sir likely only said that to encourage us to do our best in the tests." your eyes flash with recognition. "right, i forgot he said that." someone gives you a look, you ignore it. of course you forgot, you were the least at risk of being expelled. you live here. after everyone examines their scores, aizawa presses the button once more and the holographic screen rescinds into his device.
that's so cool.
"by the way, i was lying about the expulsion." he says calmly, and you can't help letting out an amused huff. he said it so casually. "it was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your quirks." he says, smiling impishly. "WHAT!?" your class cries out in surprise, midoriya looking the most distraught. iida and uraraka don't seem happy either. you can't help laughing quietly to yourself at their horror. yaomomo's poker face remains, and somehow that makes you laugh a bit more. she's so unfazed. she looks to midoriya, a bead of sweat rolling down her cheek. as if she's literally sweat dropping at his look of completely grief.
"of course that was a lie. it should've been obvious if you just thought it through." she says, sounding almost a bit like she pitied him for being misled. you stifle another laugh as the rest of your class gives her a look. as if to say they had no idea either.
"that was a little nerve-wracking, huh?" the odd elbows boy says to knuckles from sonic: the hedgehog. "i'll take up the challenge anytime!" the red-head responds. "we're done here." aizawa says, interrupting the classes chatter. "there are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom so when you get back, look over them." he instructs while walking off the field. the class follows him with their eyes, looking appalled by his casual-ness. midoriya lets out the biggest sigh of relief from the edge of the students. "midoriya." aizawa speaks suddenly and he looks up at the teacher who's stopped to stand in front of him, holding out a signed hall pass. "have the old lady fix you in the nurses office." midoriya grabs the slip. "tomorrow will be packed with even more rigorous tests. prepare yourself." he says, before finally leaving you all alone at the field.
