"what do you want, banshee girl?"

you huff quietly, staring down at the stacks of paper in front of you.

"your situation is different. your internship will function differently since you already have your hero license. you'll be acting as a stand in hero for the agency, especially because you need to be available to leave at any moment in case of a devil sighting. also, rakurai has to accompany you. since rakurai herself is a devil, the hero commission is making a rare exception in terms of your particular situation. rakurai will function as your own sidekick, meaning she's free to fight as she pleases as long as it obeys hero labor laws and as long as you're present to supervise anytime she engages in a fight."

that's what aizawa had said, but it didn't really matter the details about your internship in your opinion. your concern was mostly where were you going to internship? you didn't know the first thing about heroes. you turned to ask todoroki, but he was gone. you had forgotten, but he told you when he left he was going to turn in his forms since he had already selected his hero agency.

you could ask yaomomo, but you didn't wanna make her look at your list with you. it wasn't fair to her considering how bummed she seemed about her amount of offers. plus, you didn't want anyone to feel like you were shoving your options in their faces. the only person who knew about your lack of awareness of hero popularity was todoroki, and that was because he knew you were from a place without as much technology as others.

the only other person you could think of asking was, unfortunately, bakugo. i know what you're thinking, didn't you two do some bonding at the sports festival? yeah, but then you dropped out of the festival and gave him the win without a fight. meaning, he didn't win the way he wanted to. in his eyes, it was entirely your fault. you couldn't exactly explain why you had to leave so suddenly, nor do you think he'd even understand. i mean, it's not like rakurai planned on hurting anyone. if you really explained, you'd probably just make things worse for yourself.

"hey, bakugo." you greet as you stop beside his desk. he gives you a glare and opens his mouth to say something foul when your attention is drawn to the door by a loud sound. all might is standing in the doorway, looking down at midoriya with an interesting expression. "hi, come with me a sec!" all might asks nervously, waving midoriya over. bakugo follows your gaze and you exchange a knowing glance.

as the two leaves, he clicks his tongue and turns his attention back to his papers with hero choices listed out. "what do you want, banshee girl?" you raise your brows at the nickname. was he making fun of your last name since yūrei meant some sort of ghost? you'll give him points for creativity. "need your help picking my agency, i'll explain why if you say yes." he gives you a contemplative glare that he holds for a while before glancing at the door. it seems he wants to talk about midoriya, but knows he has to accept your request to do so. he groans. "fine, whatever. we'll go somewhere after school." you nod, smiling. "thanks, bakugo." you say sincerely, turning on your heel to leave.
