(Ominis perspective)

Throughout my life, I've read countless books about love, heartbreak, and passion.

But nothing could have prepared me for what Sebastian confessed in the rose garden.
Of all the possibilities I had imagined, not once did I expect this.
A love so deeply hidden, restrained, given only in silence,
All for the sake of her happiness, her freedom, her future.
Now I understood why he was always there for her, why he acted not just as a friend, but something more.
Sebastian had always put her dreams before his own.
He was hopelessly in love with her, from the very beginning.

"I had no idea, Sebastian. I'm sorry to hear that. Why didn't you tell me?"

"I couldn't... Helena was happy. And every time I tried, everything I said or did just ended badly. That's why I wanted to prove myself. I want to show her I can be different, not the monster she sees in her nightmares. But then... there's you."

"I'm in the way?"

"Yes, Ominis! Because of you, my chance is gone. I've lost her to you."

"I'm sorry you feel that way, Sebastian..."

"Yeah... me too."

He let out a deep sigh and gazed up at the sky, watching the clouds drift.

"If I ever got another chance, I'd take it. If I even thought for a second that she still feels something for me, I'd fight for it. And I hope you can understand that."

I gave him a slow nod.
"I understand. And... I give you my permission."

He turned to me, his eyes glimmering in the sunlight, tears starting to form.

"Are you serious?"

"I love Helena just as much as you do. And more than anything, I want her to be happy. If she's open to it, I'll talk to her. But I'm not forcing her into anything she doesn't want."

"That would mean the world to me. Thanks, bro."

We smiled at each other, the tension softening for a moment.

Sebastian grinned.
"Maybe we could share her."

I shook my head.
"Don't push it, Sallow."

-Back to the present-

(Helena's perspective)

I sat in the freezing water of the fountain at Gaunt Manor. My clothes were soaked, torn in several places, and my arms and hands were streaked with blood and bruises. My face felt numb, and my head was spinning from the effects of apparating. My vision was blurry and slow to adjust.

When my sight returned, I saw them. Ominis and Sebastian, standing by the fountain, staring at me.

I looked at one, then the other.
Then down at myself.
I closed my eyes and looked again, first at Ominis, then Sebastian.
My tears hadn't stopped. I stared at my reflection in the water, my face smeared with blood from my own hand. And I cried harder. This was Evan's blood.

I raised my trembling arms toward Ominis.
"Ominis... help me," I sobbed.

He stepped forward quickly and gently lifted me by my arms, pulling me out of the fountain.
He held me close, pressing my cold, soaked body against his warm chest.
His hand moved slowly up and down my back, steady and comforting.
I was safe. I was home. I buried my face in his shirt, clutching him tightly.

But then I lost my balance. I started to fall,
And two warm, rough hands caught me from behind, pulling me into another embrace, even warmer than the first.
