I opened the front door and I dragged Kelsie inside. I threw her on the couch and I walked to the kitchen.

"Nina?" "In here!" She popped out from the storage area and smiled at me. "Did you find her?" She asked.

"Yeah. She was in my room the entire time." I said.

"She's a weird, weird girl." "I agree."

"Anyway, I have good news for you."

"Let me guess! Is it done? Is he in jail?" I asked, joining my hands in prayer. "Yes!"

"Oh my god!" I jumped up and I hugged her tight. "Thank you Nina. Thank you."

"It's fine dear. I think you should go tell Elora the good news. She's out back with Patrick."

"Okay!" I ran to the backyard and I saw Patty running around with her.

"Elora!" I called out. She spotted me and she ran towards me.

She knocked me over to the ground and hugged me tight.

"Cora! I missed you so much!"

"I did too, kiddo." I sat up and Patty came over to me. He picked me up and I grinned.

"Thanks Patty for looking at this kiddo. I'm sure she was a handful."

"Oh, she was. But she really enjoyed sleeping in Kelsie's room." "Oh boy." "Yeah."

I looked at El and I grinned. "We're going home kiddo." "Really?" I nodded.

She hugged Patty and looked at him.

"Thanks Patty for the candy!"

"You gave her candy?" I asked, crossing my arms.

He stared at me in shock. "No. I didn't."

"Yes he did. He bought me so many candy bars."

"Patty, you are a dead man." I stared at him. He chuckled nervously and ran inside the house.

"El I told you not to have candy. It's bad for your teeth. You wanna look like mom and her fucking broken teeth?"

She shook her head. "Come on. Let's go."

We went inside and I smiled at Nina. "Thanks for looking after her. I feel like she's my kid and I have to tolerate her like a dumbass."

"Oh, it's our pleasure." Nina smiled.

"I gotta head back home. I'll see you guys."

"Bye, sweetie."

I walked to the living room and Kelsie stared at the TV.

"Kelsie, I'm going."

"Already? You just got here."

"I know. But I gotta do some work."

"Okay. I'll see you on Monday."

"Bye, babes."

We got inside the car and I looked at Elora.

"I'm still mad at you for eating candy but I'll let that go."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I really missed you. You deserve the candy. After all of this mess that happened." She grinned. "thanks!"

"Let's go home, kiddo."

I pulled away and headed back home.

She ran inside and I locked my car. I turned on the lights and I sat on the couch.

"Cora?"

"Yeah?" I looked at Elora as she stood at the end of the couch.

"Can we watch a movie?"

"Of course! What do you wanna see?"

"Tangled!"

"Ah my favourite. Come here." She climbed on the couch and cuddled into the pit of my arm.

"Are you mad at me?" She asked.

"I could never stay mad at you, kiddo. Don't worry. Just enjoy the movie."

"Okay."

We watched it. And it was amazing. For the billionth time that I'd seen it, it was always amazing. Oh to be free like rapunzel. That is all I want for her too.

She fell asleep soon and I chuckled. I picked her up and carried her to her bed. I covered her with her blankets and I kneeled beside her.

"It's over now, kiddo. It's just you and me." I whispered before kissing her on her head. I turned off the lights and I walked to my room.

I drew a bath and I took off my clothes in front of the mirror. I was starting to love myself more than I knew. I didn't have that much resentment like I did. And every scar and wound I had was proof of how strong I was.

I smiled at myself and stripped down completely before sitting in the bath.

Nothing like bath salts and bubbles all around my body. How fucking electric.

After my bath I got into my PJs and climbed into bed. I pulled out my phone and I got a text from Liam.

"Hope you got home safe x"

I smiled. "I did. I'm okay thanks x"

"Alright. See you Monday sweetheart"

I rolled my eyes.

"You bet."

I checked my other messages and it was Caleb.

"Hey, are you home yet?"

"Just reached. What's up?"

"Just checking in."

"I'm good. Are you?"

"Yeah. Surprised to see you with Liam today."

"Mission calls, Caleb."

"At least you found her"

"A relief."

"Yeah. See you Monday x"

"See you Monday x"

Wow. Am I sandwiched or what?

I turned off my phone and I lay down on my bed, staring at the ceiling. Few more months and I'm leaving this place. Just praying and waiting for the day to come.
