I got up the next morning and I woke Elora up. "Get your ass up, kid. We got school." I said. She got up and rushed to the bathroom and I chuckled.

I walked down the stairs and I poured cereal for myself. Dad entered the room and when he stretched, I could see his belly pop out. I growled as I ate my breakfast and he brewed himself a cup of coffee.

Elora joined me at the table and ate her breakfast. We all were silent. If a drop of water fell out of the tap we could probably hear it. I got up and I grabbed my bag, looking at El. "Let's go kid. We'll be late." I said.

We walked out the door and dad followed us. "Bring some beer when you get back." "I'm not 21, dad. I can't." "Asshole."

I growled and got in my car.

"Fucking asshole." I said, under my breath. Elora stared at me. "Hey, are you okay?" I looked at her. She nodded.

I started the car and drove away from there. She took my hand and placed hers on the gear. I smiled and placed mine on top.

"Hey, kiddo. I'm sorry about last night." I said. She shook her head and looked at me. "It's not your fault, Cora. You protected me." "I will die doing that forever, kid."

"Don't die." "For you? Hell yeah." I smirked.

I kissed her little hand and I smiled at her. "Don't let anyone get to you. You are who you think you are. Strong. Powerful. Smart. Understood?"

"Yes." She blinked at me, with her beautiful blue eyes. I smirked and drove on. "Let's go kick ass."

I pulled up at school and I parked the car. We got down and I grabbed my keys and took her hand. "Come."

I led her through the halls and I stopped at her class. "Alright. You know the deal. Don't be too smart. Don't be too dumb. If anyone messes with you and you can't handle it, call me. Okay?" "Yes, Cora." "Good." I kissed her head and she smiled at me.

"I'll see you later, kid." She nodded and I opened the door for her. She ran inside the class room and sat down on the chair. She waved at me and I nodded at her, before closing the door.

I walked down the school halls and my classmates surrounded me, some were making out against the lockers, some were fighting and the others were just having boring conversation about sex.

I opened my locker and I kept my books in. I was in my own world when someone suddenly pushed me. I took a step back, trying to find my footing.

I turned to see my all time bully. Heather.

"Oh, hi, dumbass, I didn't see you there." She said. I smirked. "Clearly you need glasses."

She grunted. "Bitch." "Cunt." She pushed me against the locker and I clawed her arms. She screamed out and I headbutted her. She fell to the floor.

"Don't fuck with me. I will destroy you." I said. Everyone stared at me and I scoffed, taking my bag with me. I hung it on my shoulder and I locked my locker and walked away from the scene.

I kept my head low as I entered my class. I sat at the back, away from all kinds of people. The jocks. The bullies. The Goths. The basics. The plastics. And of course, the nerds.

The group of jocks entered the classroom and I rolled my eyes. They stayed in a group. But the exceptions were always Liam and Caleb. Not to mention both being my bullies.

I covered my head and I spun my pen around my fingers, I felt a ball of paper hit my head and I looked up. Liam grinned and cocked his head.

"Sup, spotty?" He gave me that name when I got chicken pox one time. Kelsie took a picture and her fat ass posted it on her instagram stories. How glorious.

"Fuck off, Liam." I said. He approached me and sat next to me on the empty seat. "Why so moody? Damn, who did you UFC with?" He asked, staring at my bruised face.

"Leave me alone, Liam."

"Alright, jerk." He got up and walked away. I looked back and I saw Caleb staring at me. "Stop looking!" I said. He scoffed and flipped me off. I rolled my eyes and looked away.

Kelsie finally entered and she sat next to me. "Fucking hell. Sorry I'm late. I had to get my hair done." I looked at her hair and she had curls fall over her face. "That's...great."

"What's up?"

"Baskin Robin's group over there is really pissing me off."

"Ignore them. Just a bunch of losers." "What did you say?" Liam asked, staring back at us.

"I said you're a bunch of losers." Kel enunciated. I rolled my eyes and covered my face. "You bitches are really crossing the line." Liam growled.

"Hey, chill man. Take it easy." Caleb said, pulling him back.

"Fuck off, Caleb."

"I said chill. Don't make this worse. Liam." Caleb said. Liam took a step back and glared at us. "Fuck you both." He said. Caleb clenched his jaw and balled up his fists tight.

"Ugh." Kelsie rolled her eyes and looked away.

I stared at Caleb and he stared back at me. He nodded slightly and looked away from me once again. I brushed it off and carried on with the class.

The day wasn't so long. The bell rang for lunch and I went outside and sat on the stairs outside of the school. I could see Liam and Caleb standing by Liam's car and talking to their other football mates.

I pushed my hair back and I looked away, chewing on an apple. All I kept thinking about was how I'd leave my home. I don't think I could call it a home. It made no sense.

"Hey." I looked up and I saw Caleb leaning on the handrails.

"What do you want, Caleb?" "I just...I wanted to apologise for Liam's behavior." He said. I furrowed my brows and stared at him, chuckling. "Why?" "I know he's a jerk. But he doesn't have a right to call you those names."

I gripped my bag tight and I got up. "Thanks. But...it doesn't matter." I said. "Wait." I looked at this curly haired boy and he sighed. "It does matter. I tried to tell him to cut it out. He doesn't listen."

"Give it a few months, Caleb. You don't need to try for me. You don't even know me." I turned away from him. "I do know you." He said.

I paused and I looked at him. "We live on the same street. You have a sister." "Basic knowledge." "You had a grandmother who passed away a few years ago. I was there at the funeral."

I stared at him. "Listen, Caleb. I don't know what you're trying to do here. Maybe you wanna apologize on behalf of Liam. I accept. But at the same time, I don't care what the prick does to me. I'm past it."

He stared at me, trying to find words to fill in the silence. I smiled at him. "Bye, Caleb. See you around."

I turned back to school and I entered it again. The fuck was that?
