The next day was fine. Nothing much really happened. Just the usual. We meet, we talk, we gossip and we go back home. Of course that's what I say, normal.
I dropped El to her class and I headed back to mine. I sat down and I groaned in pain.
"Are you okay?" Caleb asked. "I'm fine. I slept wrong last night, that's all."
"Want me to massage you?" Liam asked, wiggling his eyebrows. "Gross. No." I gave him a disgusted look. He smirked.
"I heard dad's bail is like a million dollars." I said, tapping my pen on the table. "Well, does he have that kind of money?"
"I don't know. I doubt it. But if he does I'm fucked." I said, frowning. "I doubt he does. He's probably spent his money on alcohol." I nodded.
"Don't worry, Cora. We're here for you." Kelsie said. I know. I replied in my head.
Mr. Patel walked in and he grinned at us.
"Well, prom is closing in and I don't think I really care much. And neither should you. I'm giving you a bunch of homework so you can suffer because you all are terrible at this class except these here...at the front row."
He eyed the nerds and they smiled gleefully.
"Bunch of losers." Kelsie scoffed.
"I'll email you whatever needs to be done. It's due Friday next week. Good luck."
"Are you kidding me? This is worse than the 3 grade when Ms. Newman made me write "I'm sorry I won't punch anyone again" on the board 50 times." Liam whispered.
I snickered. "I'd do anything to punch you, Lee." He stuck his tongue out and I scrunch my nose.
"Alright, I think we can go on with trigonometry..." Mr. Patel said. "Fuck. Not this again." I uttered.
Liam turned around and winked at me. "Lots of angles we can talk about, sweetheart." I rolled my eyes. Caleb gave him a side glance before turning to the front.
The day passed by, and before I knew it, lunch was over already. Kelsie and I walked inside and giggled.
"I can't believe you'd let him do that!" I said.
"Listen, it was new for me and I really wanted to know. I mean I saw a lot of porno that did that I figured I should try it out."
"It felt good didn't it?"
"So good. You should try it." I cringed and shook my head. "No. I think I'm a little too weird about my butt." She laughed. "You'll get there honey, don't worry."
I scoffed.
"Cora Smith reports to the principal's office now. Cora Smith. To the principal's office."
"Fuck. I gotta go." I said, staring at the loudspeaker.
"What do you think it could be?" She asked.
"Definitely some Elora shit." I smirked. She laughed and waved at me as I ran off.
I knocked on the principal's door and he looked up at me.
"Cora Smith. Finally, long time no see." I smirked and entered his room. "Hello, Mr. Willow. What is it?"
I looked down at the chair and saw a grinning Elora sitting on the chair. I smirked.
"I'm surprised you're smiling at her even seeing her in this room."
"I'm sure it's bad news. And it's probably got something to do with blaming her. But please, enlighten me." I sat down and looked at him.
"She punched a kid in the nose, Cora. He bled all over the floor." "So?" "So? You're promoting this violence?" "No. I'd say it was self defence. I know it was. How about this? We listen to her side of the story."
