That Monday all the Grade 10 students were gathered in the assembly ground to listen to the Principal's announcement. Everyone except Orpheus and Selene was aware of everything so they weren't clueless about what Miss Pinmaker had to announce.

"So it has always been a norm for this class to embark on an excursion some few days to Halloween," Pinmaker said. "On Sunday is 31st of October, the day which we're supposed to celebrate Halloween."

Orpheus who heard this couldn't help but narrow his red eyes. Why would humans celebrate something that was gory? He had interacted with humans and knew their culture like the lines on his palm so it was natural he knew what Halloween was.

"You embark to some gory place to celebrate this Halloween?" Orpheus asked Felicia who was standing beside him, her right hand locked in his left hand.

"Yeah," Felicia replied. "Last time we went it wasn't even gory. It was easy to see through the props set up to scare us. Only a few weak-minded people were scared but it was only a little."

Daniel who had heightened senses could hear all their conversations and he couldn't help but feel his body boil with rage. So Felicia had really abandoned him. His facial muscles quivered as he clenched his fists in visible rage.

"Calm down, calm down," Daniel muttered to himself as he tried to call himself. He knew his nature was a Lycanthrope was acting up. They were all know for being raging and rash types.

Orpheus who was still talking with Felicia turned to look at Daniel and mouthed words which ordinary people wouldn't hear. But Daniel could hear it very clearly. Orpheus had said, "I told you I'd get back at you."

Daniel forgot everything Miss Pinmaker was saying and was pushed by his instincts to attack Orpheus and beat him up so badly just like he did to Walter and his gang. He took a step and was about to walk towards Orpheus when something soft and gentle grab his right arm. He turned around and saw Selene's charming red eyes staring at him.

"..."

Daniel was momentarily speechless and froze in his tracks. What were those eyes for?

"You really can't use your head, can you?" Selene asked as she pulled Daniel backwards gently. "Going to fight Orpheus right now? Seriously?"

"He..." Daniel didn't know what to say. He was actually surprised about Selene grabbing him. Her hand...it was so soft like cotton and gentle. He didn't know why but he got a very special feeling from this.

"He took your girlfriend so you wanna retaliate?" Selene raised her red eyebrows. "Hmm?"

Daniel who had calmed down sighed, "You won't understand."

He wanted to tell her that it wasn't his fault that he was angry. He wanted to tell her that it was because he was a Lycanthrope—a Wolfman as that. But then he ultimately stopped himself from doing so. He didn't trust anybody apart from those who already knew his secret as a Wolfman—Smith, the Alpha and all the members of the Curious Mythologists—those were the only people he trusted.

"You won't understand," Daniel finally said as he dropped his head slightly.

"Believe me I will," Selene smiled warmly. "Believe me when I say I will."

"Uh..." Daniel was momentarily charmed by Selene's appearance and character. He shook his head several times in order to pull away from the gaze with her. He turned to look at Orpheus but Selene pulled his head away.

"Stop looking at them," Selene said. Doing that would only make my proud cousin feel he has succeeded.

"Uh..." Daniel was stomped. He thought Selene was trying to kiss him. "What are you trying to do?"
