I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.
I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.
And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem,
But if I know you, I know what you'll do,
You'll love me at once, they way you did once upon a dream. But if I know you, I know what you'll do,
You'll love me at once,
The way you did once upon a dream.I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.
I know you, that gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.
And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem,
But if I know you, I know what you'll do,
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream."Once Upon A Dream" - Lana Del Rey

"I will wait forever, if that's how long it takes." I mused to myself as I sat on the warm dock, my legs swinging idly so that my toes dipped into the cool sea water. "Mother told me to meet him here, but I didn't think he'd take so long."
The wind blew through my thigh length white hair, pushing it back behind my exposed shoulders. I still wasn't used to the breeze, and the feeling of my hair brushing against my skin tickled, but I didn't really mind it. I think my favorite part about this strange world was the wind. We didn't have anything like it back home.
I had lost track of how long I'd been sitting there, but I didn't exactly have much of a concept of time. I thought it might have been centuries, but I supposed that wasn't very long at all to wait for a human. Or was it? I had never been human, so I couldn't hope to know.
It wasn't like it mattered to me how much time passed. I never slept, for I never grew tired. I never ate, for I never felt hunger. I couldn't age, and so I would wait here forever if that was what I must do.
So I waited. Was it a day? A week? A century? I didn't know. It didn't matter. Mother had told me to wait, so I waited. I always did as Mother asked, because Mother always knew what was right to do.
'You will find him by the docks off the northern shore, my child. You know the one. I took you there once, when you were new.'
'How will I know it's him?'
'Your heart will know, dear daughter. Your heart always knows, remember? That is your gift to the world.'
'You always say that, but I never know what it means, Mother. All creatures, great and small have a heart, do we not?'
'We do, of course.'
'Then what makes mine so special?'
'Your heart, my dear, is not just any heart. Your heart was made for humans. To guide them, to teach them, to change them from what they were into what they are, and what they will be. Just as I do with the fabric of time, you will do with the influence of love. You will understand one day, my darling. Be patient, and follow your instincts.'
As I replayed the conversation in my head, I still couldn't make any sense of what Mother had meant. What could I possibly do for humans? I didn't know the first thing about them, and I certainly didn't know anything about love.
Perhaps I wasn't old enough to understand it yet? Though, I couldn't recall how long it had been since I'd been made. I had to imagine it had been a very long time indeed though, because I couldn't remember a time when I had not existed.
Just when I thought I might lose myself in thought for another millennia or so, a strange sound caught my attention. It sounded like someone was speaking, but the words were being drawn out far longer than they should have been.

Fanfic"Of course. And, why not? Why wouldn't the ship be attacked while I'm tied to the fucking mast." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. When it rains, it pours. Literally. I awoke in a storm, tied to the mast of a foreign ship. I had no memories. I had no name...
