Shout louder! Shout out loud!
We got power, make a wave.
Change the world,
We got power, make it rain.
Oh, I'll protect you, I'm a defender,
Silence the darkness, murder.
Our sound is like the thunder,
On top of the world, we stand again.
"The Ring" - ATEEZ
------------------------------------------------------
A soft knocking stirred me from my slumber, and I lazily pushed myself up to sit after my eyes had finally opened. "Come in." I called toward the door, my voice still thick and layered with fatigue. I heard the door swing open slowly, and lifted my gaze in time to catch San's eyes as he shut it behind him.
Through my sleepy stupor, I noted he was wearing casual clothing today. A black tunic with ruffled sleeves, belted by a long purple sash that hung down over black trousers. Without a hat his hair looked much fuller. It sat shaggy and disheveled in a charming way, the thick streak of blonde weaving in and out of the black locks occasionally. What a cutie.
"Good morning!" The Starling strode toward me, his catlike features set in a charming smirk. He looked bright eyed and bushy tailed, as if he'd been awake for hours. I yawned, rubbing my eyes wearily, obscuring my vision. I felt his weight press into the mattress, as he carefully sat beside me. "How did you sleep?"
"Like a brick." I murmured groggily, finishing my vain attempt at wiping the sleep away, and yawned again, running my hand through tangled locks of my hair to push them out of my face. "And you?"
"I always sleep well, Miss. Please don't worry about me.." His reply came in a breezy huff, as he leaned his weight back on his palms. "Once you're fully awake, I'd like you to eat breakfast with me." Shaking the hair out of his face, he canted his head back as if to ask for my agreeance to his request. Relaxed sable eyes regarded me with a comfortable observance.
"Oh, another meal?" I quirked a black brow curiously, sending him a questioning look. Hadn't I just eaten last night? If I had been hungry I hadn't realized it yet through the sleepy haze. The Starling blinked at me with mild vexation, and I couldn't help but flush at the sight. "Uhm... sure, if you think I should?"
"Of course! It's something you should do at least twice a day, if you can help it." San's mouth scrunched slightly as he chuckled his reply, his focus shifting toward the door for a moment. "Breakfast is especially important." He tapered off into a silence again, before turning once more to face me.
"Would you like to see the deck in the daylight today?" He asked me with a quirked brow and eyes rounded with excitement. He looked nearly owlish as he awaited my reply, and I felt the familiar tingling feeling of yesterday spring up again in my chest. For a moment, I was brought back to the memory of his puckered lips as he blew on my soup. My face grew warm as the scene replayed in my head. I wanted to see it again. "Miss?"
"I, uhm... hmm?" I shook my head rapidly, realizing I had been staring at his lips with nominal fascination. My focus shifted back to his eyes, and I nodded my head vigorously in a lame attempt to cover my horror. "Yes, yes. I would love that, thank you!" Could I not have one single moment without doing something humiliating?
"It's nothing, really. You'll need to learn the layout of the ship eventually, and the sooner the better." His devilish smirk cued me in on the fact that he'd noticed my staring, but mercifully he didn't remark on it.
San's face fell into a more serious expression after a moment, and I found myself questioning the reason for it. My answer came not long after. "Though we are a capable lot, there are times when you might find yourself thrust into... dangerous situations. Knowing where to go and what to do in those situations is crucial to your survival."

Fanfiction"Of course. And, why not? Why wouldn't the ship be attacked while I'm tied to the fucking mast." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. When it rains, it pours. Literally. I awoke in a storm, tied to the mast of a foreign ship. I had no memories. I had no name...
