Following the stream,
Of Merlot down your cheek,
And on your dress.
It smears across your chest,
And leaves an abstract mess.
I'm oddly drawn to it.
Yeah, you,
You look like hell.
Oh, but you,
You wear it well."Like Hell" - Francis Doom

"YAH! Get back here you fucking pigeon!" We had barely crossed the threshold into the large kitchen, when a shockingly loud tenor voice cut through the relative silence we'd fallen into.
I stopped just short of slamming into Seonghwa's back as he halted upon hearing the outburst. Peering around his shoulder, I felt my hair slide across my shoulders as I bent sideways to get a look at the culprit of this sudden exclamation. My eyes widened as I witnessed a familiar figure being chased by an unfamiliar one.
"Waaah! Drop the knife! DROP THE KNIFE!" San's voice rose nearly an octave above his normal pitch, as he dashed around tables and counters. I watched as he hopped over the wooden bar set in the far right corner of the kitchen, crouching behind it to put distance between him and his pursuer. "HYUNG! HELP ME!" The Starling was nearly shrieking.
"You son of a bi--" The mahogany haired stranger had started to speak but was cut off quickly by a rather annoyed Seonghwa.
"SPARROW." The way The Raven's voice echoed through the kitchen sent a spine tingling tremor down my back. I hadn't heard him speak with such bass in his voice until this point. I was unsure if I found it thrilling, or terrifying. "Drop the knife." He sighed, folding his left arm across his chest and perching his right elbow above it, to once again pinch the bridge of his nose.
"But..." The Sparrow had begun to protest, but a sharp look from Seonghwa had him sighing in defeat. He moved across the kitchen to set the knife back in it's block. "You win this time, Navigator." He pointing aggressively toward San. "But if you ever call me cute again, I'll cut off one of your ears."
I felt my face twist into confusion. All of this commotion because he was called cute? Were these men fearsome pirates, or petulant children? I bit back a bewildered laugh, and stepped out from behind Seonghwa. San's face lit up upon seeing me, and he stood to make his way quickly to my side.
"There you are Miss!" He reached out placing his hands on my shoulders as he inspected me. "You look so much more alive now. Even prettier than before." He nodded a few times, as if he were satisfied with his appraisal of me.
"Oh, San, uh..." I glanced away from him, feeling my face flush slightly - as much as it could in my current state. Why were these men being so kind to me? Why was any of this even happening? I was certain I wasn't dreaming. The pang of hunger in my stomach, the chill that still lingered from the rain, and the ache from the ropes that dug into my skin were still present.
"Who is this? Why is she here? And why does she know your name?" The Sparrow cut in before I could thank San, questions coming like rapid fire while he moved over cautiously to stand with us.
"She knows my name because I told her, obviously." San turned to send a cold look toward Sparrow, his face mirroring some of Seonghwa's previous annoyance.
"You told her? Why in the name of The Sea Goddess would you do a thing like that?" His voice dipped low, as he leaned back to give San an incredulous look.
"Because, dumbass, she is our friend. I will fill you in on it later." The Starling rolled his eyes slightly.
"Our friend?" The Sparrow balked, inquisitive eyes raking up and down my form. "I see. If that's the case then allow me to introduce myself properly." The Sparrow's demeanor changed sharply, shifting from weary to formal in record time. He smoothed out his black coat, and lowered himself into a perfect 90 degree bow. "My name is Jongho, Miss."
