Always trust my wife.

I will always trust my wife.

I will always trust my wife when she tells me she has some sort of feeling.

Thank god it wasn't anything that happened to me.

Hunter's P.O.V.

He is fine.

Chase is fine.

But he could have been NOT fine.

Looking at my husband asleep on this creaky hospital bed that looks like it was made for someone in their adolescent years, I am so fucking thankful that he is fine.

Briar's feelings will now be expanded to my family. If we would have stayed in when Riv said he was because Briar had a strange feeling about this weekend, we would not be in this situation.

After our loss in Oregon, the team wanted to go out and blow off some steam before we fly home.

That's pretty typical.

River immediately declined, said he was going to stay in his room and get some rest. It makes sense, he is about to go PRO next week on top of still playing a game with us. And he has a pregnant wife who has been through it.

So, when Riv came into mine and Chase's room as we were getting cleaned up to go out, I wasn't expecting him to say what he said. He told us that yeah his life is hectic right now but he's not going out solely because Brair was concerned before we left that something was going to happen.

Something happened.

Something happened to Chase.

Something was slipped into Chase's drink.

Chase and I had decided to go out for a couple drinks. We just wanted to unwind, hangout with our teammates, and take advantage of being away from Josie.

Fuck, I miss our baby girl like crazy.

Well, as it turns out, a fan was more than upset that River stayed in. She was so distraught that she had to be escorted away from us, 3 times. We should have left when she was taken out the first time.

Nope, we wanted to just have another beer and then go check on Riv before calling it a night.

Biggest-fucking-mistake.

This crazy bitch spiked Chase's glass the last time she came back around to us. No one noticed, or if they did, no one said anything.

The drugs that were meant for my best friend, ended up knocking out my husband. Chase was knocked out so hard that he stopped breathing, twice! Once while we were waiting for help and the second when we were almost to the hospital in the ambulance.

Never want to ride in one of those things again. Once is far too many times.

This entire situation has changed EVERYTHING. This situation has changed how my family and I will be in public moving forward. It's disgusting that people think they can treat other people like this.

While I know our social status has a lot to do with it, this is really how people treat people? I don't understand. I also can't imagine what would have happened if Riv would have been out with us.

It's sooooooooo bittersweet. I am beyond grateful that River is not the one in this hospital bed.

But Chase shouldn't have been a substitute.

No one should have been.

No one should be in this hospital bed! We should all be leaving on the flight home!
