Chapter 54 (Wait, Is That...)

My classmates and I were sitting together downstairs in the lounge area.

"So, Yumi. Your first name is Boriko, right?" Ashido suddenly asked.

I lifted my eyebrow. That was a weird question, was it not?

"Yeah..." I answered.

"You ever noticed how it kinda sounds like a boy's name?"

Her words felt like a rock hitting my head.

"Really?" I said. "Anyone else wanna speak up? Who else thinks I have a boy name!?"

The room went quiet... Then, Kacchan raised his hand.

"I do!" he said.

I narrowed my eyes at him, and he snickered.

"Apparently, before I was born, my parents thought I was gonna be a boy, and when I turned out to be a girl, they were too lazy to change it." I said.

Ashido started laughing.

"Don't laugh at me!" I yelled.

"Why are you laughing, Ashido?" Yoayorozu asked.

"Yumi must've rubbed off on you, Ashido." Tsu said.

"Don't you find that hilarious!? Her parents gave her a boy name because they were too lazy to change it!" Ashido said between laughs.

"That is kind of strange." Tokoyami agreed.

"O-kay! Laugh it up, Ashido! Anyone else got a problem with my name!?" I yelled.

Everyone sat quietly.

"Really! Everyone hates it?" I said with a pouty face.

"No! It's not like that!" Uraraka tried to reassure me. But I didn't listen.

"Fine then! I'll just change my name if it's like that!"

"She just said it wasn't like that." Sero said.

"But, uh, I didn't even notice it sounded like a guy's name." Kirishima said.

"Yeah, I think Boriko really suits you, Yumi." Izuku said.

I looked at the two boys and they both smiled at me, charmingly. I let out a loud wail.

"Izukuuuu! Kirishimaaaa! You guys are the only ones who really care about meeeee!!!!"

"Hey! What about me!?" Kacchan yelled, angrily.

"What about you? You don't like my name either. That's why you call me Borcchan."

"WHAT!? Whoever said I don't like your name!? Borcchan and Yumi are just easier to say than Boriko!" Kacchan yelled.

"Liar!" I spouted back.

"Okay then, why don't you call me by my first name? Do you not like my name?"

"Of course I love your name."

"Kacchan is just easier to say, right?"

I turned my head and pouted.

"I guess..."

"Yeah, that's what I thought."

"Okay! You got me, but I still love Izuku and Kirishima." I said.

I jumped on the two boys and hugged them dramatically. I didn't realize that I had accidentally hit the remote for the tv with my knee and turned on the news.

"Wait, is that... Endeavor!?" I said and everyone gasped.

He was in Kyushu with the number 2 hero, Hawks, fighting what looked like a nomu! Endeavor had been stabbed through the left side of his face by the nomu.

I looked at Todoroki with a worried face. "Todoroki..."

His left side flickered with flames and his eyes were wide.

Endeavor fell from the sky and crashed on the ground, seemingly passing out while the Nomu stood over him.

"Aren't there any stronger heroes around? Is he best?" the Nomu said.

'It can talk!?' I thought.

Todoroki gritted his teeth in anger.

"The villain who suddenly appeared is not destroying the city! I can't confirm this, but it seems as though many bioengineered human nomu are also on the ground! Heroes are currently attempting to suppress them and evacuate citizens. However, Endeavor appears to have been greatly wounded." The news reporter said. "This madness... I can't help but compare it to the nightmare we witnessed three months ago in Kamino Ward."

Endeavor got up and tried to attack the nomu with his flames, but the nomu dogged and sent him flying into a wall. Endeavor coughed up an extreme amount of blood.

"You are not good enough!!!!" the nomu yelled.

The news reporter and everyone on the street were scared out of their minds and running for their lives.

"There's no symbol... This is what it looks like when people have no hope." The news reporter said.

"You've gotta be kidding." Todoroki said.

"It's chaos. Sheer panic." Tokoyami said.

Just then, Aizawa came running in.

"Todoroki! So, you know then?" he said.

"It's bad." Sero said.

"Don't just say whatever you want!" A boy on TV shouted at the camera. "What, do you think scaring people makes for good tv!? Look over there! His flames are still burning! See? You know what that means... Endeavor is still alive and fighting for us! Don't say there's no symbol just All Might's not here! Do you know what he's doing? Endeavor is risking his life for our sake! Look at him!!!"

The camera showed Endeavor propelling himself toward the nomu with his flames.

The nomu turned around and stabbed Endeavor, but Endeavor was unfazed.

"Come on old man," Todoroki said, gritting his teeth. " I'm watching you!"

They started moving at an ultra fast rate, way faster than my teleportation. They were just glimmery lights in the sky. I'm surprised the camera man could keep up.

Endeavor screamed out, "Hawks! Now!"

I'm not sure what Hawks did, but all of a sudden, Endeavor was flying up towards the sky at a rapid pace. Even faster than before. He was so high up, the camera couldn't follow him, but we saw a super bright light come from his direction and a huge explosion was let off.

He and the nomu fell from the sky and crashed on the ground. Everyone was worried and anticipating what was going to come out of the burning flames. And what appeared was Endeavor, standing tall with his fist raised high.

Everyone cheered knowing that Endeavor had just saved them. Todoroki fell to the ground and I teleported over to him. Everyone followed. Todoroki was relieved that his father was okay and he let out a shaky breath.

"This is a symbol of a new beginning!" The reporter said.

Writer: Sheesh! Talk about a short chapter! Mb! The next chapter we're gonna be getting into the Class A vs Class B arc, so it should be much longer. I only made this one short so I could get it out of the way. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it and i'll see you in the next arc! 👋 😘
