In the vast expanse of the cosmos, there existed a planet called Haven, home to the legendary Knights of Haven. These brave warriors were tasked with defending their world and all the galaxies from malevolent rulers who sought to conquer and destroy...
The endless swirl of hyperspace streamed past the damaged vessel like rivers of starlight and shadow. Inside the central chamber, silence reigned. Nova's body lay within a transparent stasis pod, suspended in a shimmering field of cosmic energy.
Mechanical arms of the Auto-Doctor rotated slowly, scanning her still form. Its synthesized voice murmured clinical data, but offered no hope. "Vitals stable. Conscious mind... inaccessible. Neural links: fragmented."
Queen Austria knelt beside the pod, placing her palm against the crystal. Her eyes closed, channeling her innate connection to spirit energies. A warm glow emerged from her fingers, but the connection hit a void. Nova's spirit was there-but lost, drifting in endless mental darkness.
"She's trapped," Austria whispered, tears brimming. "Her soul... it's calling from too far away."
Kaisan stood behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder. His voice was low and steady, masking his worry. "She gave everything to protect the future. We'll carry that future with us-until the stars burn out, if we must."

The children approached silently-Abisai, Almiria, Antonius, Mida, Sirius, Rose, and the others. Without speaking, they each placed a hand on Kaisan and Austria. Glyphs of starlight shimmered from their palms-armorlinks forged in ancient power. The sigils lit up in cascading colors, fusing temporarily into Kaisan and Austria's forms.
A wave of power passed through them both, warming their hearts and strengthening their resolve.
Austria gasped softly. "The children... they shared their link with us..."
"They've already chosen the path," Kaisan murmured. "They're not just survivors. They're heirs."
