Chapter X: Duel of Destiny (Part 1 - Abisai vs. Angel)
The air shuddered with tension as Abisai faced down Angel-the Executioner. Their eyes locked like ancient forces clashing in a forgotten myth. Each step between them echoed with a thousand memories and a prophecy waiting to unfold.
A hush fell across the scorched battlefield as the last winds of peace died.
Abisai's voice was steady, but heavy with purpose.
"Tell me, Angel... Why did you absorb your friend?"
Angel's smirk widened, a glint of something broken dancing in his eyes.
"Friend?" he scoffed. "Omega Dragon believed in peace. Unity. All illusions. I devoured him because mercy is weakness. And weakness has no place in my kingdom."
A pulse of dark energy rippled from him, thick with the remnants of the Omega Dragon's essence-twisted, tortured, and raw.
Abisai's hand closed tighter around Shellaluna's hilt, the ancient sword humming in resonance with his rising fury.
From the sidelines, Ashley sprang into action.
"Vine Whip: Andromeda!"
Emerald energy burst forth like shooting stars, forming radiant green tendrils lashing toward Angel-buying Abisai precious seconds.
But Angel was faster.
With one hand, he caught a vine and crushed it, laughing bitterly.
"Still playing with flowers, sister? This isn't your fight."
His scythe roared to life-a crescent of cosmic decay-and he cleaved through the vines like they were nothing.
Ashley staggered back, breath caught in her throat. Her attack had meant nothing.
Abisai stepped forward, his cape fluttering behind him like the banner of a final stand.
"No one else dies today." He raised his blade. "This ends now."
He turned briefly.
"Tony. Get them to the ship. Now."
Tony nodded, pulling Amelia and Ashley back.
"Come on. Move!"
Amelia resisted, desperation flashing in her eyes.
"I'm not leaving him!"
Abisai gave her a small, sad smile-one filled with hope and goodbye.
"You won't lose me. But I can't protect you and fight him. Trust me."
That moment-brief, quiet-felt heavier than the crashing sky above them.
With a final nod, Tony led the girls away.
---
Angel raised his scythe, his aura flaring like a storm eclipse.
"Shellaluna. That blade still sings of your old gods."
Abisai held it before him, golden light wrapping around him like a sacred mantle.
"It sings of what still matters."
He lifted his sword to the heavens.
"Come forth, Orion!"
A stellar blaze erupted from him. His armor transformed-sleek, crystalline, celestial. A knight reborn from stardust and flame.
Angel's smirk twisted into a grimace.
"Let's see if your light can survive oblivion."
They clashed-steel meeting steel in a roar of cosmic forces. Shockwaves rolled across the battlefield like divine wrath. With every strike, the tower behind them trembled. The heavens dimmed.
Abisai channeled his fury into his elemental arts.
"Tempest Fury!" he bellowed.
A vortex of fire and lightning erupted around him, spiraling into Angel with thunderous force. The explosion lit up the darkened sky in streaks of gold and violet.
