Chapter 35: The Traitor Revealed - The Knight of Scorpio's Ultimate Stand
Setting: Inside a cozy cabin in Starfall City, warmly lit by flickering candles. The scent of pinewood lingers in the air, while outside the window the moon hangs low, casting an ethereal glow over the surrounding forest. The young knights gather, still carrying the weight of their recent clash with the Empress of Calamity.
---
Scene 1: Tensions Rising
Catherine stands near the hearth, arms crossed, her gaze sharp as steel. The firelight glints against her eyes as her son and his companions sit around the wooden table, still bruised but restless with energy.
Catherine: (sternly)
"What were you thinking? Charging into battle like that-without ensuring your own safety? Do you realize how close your identities came to being exposed?"
Abisai: (taking a slow breath, speaking more calmly than before)
"You're right, Mom. I should've been more careful. I let my emotions push me too far, and I risked more than I should have. I'm sorry-for almost exposing us."
The room falls silent. Catherine studies her son, expecting his usual hotheaded retort. Instead, she finds something new in his eyes: maturity, restraint.
Tony: (leaning forward)
"But under those circumstances, we had to fight. People were dying, Catherine. If Abisai hadn't stepped in, it could've been worse."
Mida: (glancing between them)
"And still... we managed to win. We proved the Empress of Calamity wasn't invincible."
Ashley: (with a half-smirk)
"Yeah. Honestly? Compared to us, those 'all-powerful' Empresses were amateurs."
---
Scene 2: The Unseen Threat
Abisai: (shaking his head, voice steady)
"Don't get cocky. One victory doesn't make them weak, and it doesn't make us untouchable. That was only the beginning. Next time... we might not be so lucky."
The team quiets, Abisai's words settling like a cold wind through the cabin.
Catherine: (raising an eyebrow, surprised by his tone)
"Spoken like a true knight. I'm glad you see it now."
Abisai: (seriously)
"The one that worries me most is Infinite. When I faced him... it was different. Stronger. Like he wasn't even trying. And worse-I felt a connection, like we've met before. That means Tellez isn't just pulling monsters from the void. Some of these Emperors may have ties to Earth."
Amelia: (frowning, voice hushed)
"Ties... to our families?"
Mida: (firmly)
"Whatever their backstories are, it doesn't matter. They're still our enemies. And mercy isn't in their nature."
Ashley: (clenching her fists)
"I tried speaking to Lyra, hoping for some sense of reason. She didn't hesitate-she wanted us gone. Erased. That's all she cared about."
---
Scene 3: The Need for Unity
Catherine: (softening, though her eyes remain sharp)
"I understand your desire to fight, but overconfidence will kill you faster than any blade. If the Empresses return-and they will-you must be ready."
Abisai: (nodding firmly)
"Agreed. From here on, we fight smarter. We can't rely only on our suits or transformations. We need to grow-develop mystic arts that are truly our own."
Tony: (grinning, energized)
"You mean like your Mystic Crossed? I'm in. I've got ideas already."
Mida: (excitedly)
"I've been thinking too-what if I fuse my mystic energy with my suit's systems? It could create something entirely new."
